747-400X QUEEN OF THE SKIES FLIGHT SIM (WIN XPVISTA)

Having flown the virtual skies of Flight Simulator version 1.0, have had a lot of experience with add-on software. In the arena of add-on aircraft, this title is the best of the best. Something PMDG continues to excel at is providing a product as close to real life as computer technology allows in the MSFS environment. There are several creators of this genre of add-on software, i.e. aircraft, but PMDG and this title ranks number one my list for its attention to detail, fidelity to the real-world aircraft and consistently high standards from documentation to the FMC - Flight Management Computer. The anticipation of a new PMDG model release has been something that is hard to endure because I have faith that PMDG will make each effort better than their last. This 747-400 is no exception to the standard PMDG has set for itself and their keeping the bar high for other developers in the MSFS add-on field.

Any PMDG add on will be realistic so you can't just jump in and fly it. It's a learning curve but fun.

PDMG sells this flight sim for $70 and on amzon it is about 50% off. It a great flight sim with tons of liveries that you download from the PDMG website. The flight sim is also highly detailed and even comes with airforce 1. I wish it also worked for FS 2004 but the sim is still great.

Great add-on.If you really want to "Get into it" and I mean get into the game and learn how to start, config, enter info into the FMC and auto-fly to next destination then this is the upgrade you should add to your fleet.It takes just flying, to really understanding what really goes on in the cockpit while you are trying to get to your seat and stuff your carry-on into the overhead locker.This add-on will add many hours of enjoyment in your sim life.Jay

This is one of the best aircraft for fsx. Even if you have no idea about how to use a fmc or anything thier are tons of youtube videos to help you step by step. And if you love this then you need to get the PMDG MD-11. witch is even better then this. Over all, if you have fsx then buy this.PMDG makes the most realistic aircraft for fsx and thats what they did with this aircraft.

Loved it at first, but have issues with the AP. Lnav works fine for me but trying to keep her at her assigned altitude just takes the fun out of it. The amount of detail in the 474 is amazing and some flights are just perfect but 90% of them are like riding a yoyo. Set the altitude for 35k and the FMC says all is good. Start your climb-out and she feels like having the top down in your first car.... Than you get to cruising altitude and set the AP on and BAM!!! YOYO time... I hope they find a way to patch this thing because flying her on manual is great until you do a 10 hour flight... AP would be nice, if you could trust it... Right now I have her in the air with the AP set for 15000. The plane goes up to 40k than down to kissing trees than starts the cycle again...Running Win7, 3.2Ghz dual core, 8gb ram, FS9, REX.

As realistic as it gets! Very detailed, very interactive, beautiful aircraft to fly. Definitely an upgrade from the default 747. But make sure you know how to operate this aircraft. FMC navigation (w/ LNAV and VNAV) is a must in this aircraft, and requires knowledge of these systems. But once you learn, you unlock a world of realistic flying that is just too good to miss.Just waiting for the PMDG 737 Series!!!

Bought it so I could fly for an online group, and I'm glad I did. From the extra liveries available on the DVD to the available downloads at PMDG's website, this is a great addon. The models are great and the various cockpit modes make it very realistic.
