ManzellaMen's Fleece Cold Weather Convertible Cascade Glove With Thinsulate

Photographers note: Great glove/mitten for shooting in the cold.
As a photographer I'm always looking for ways to keep my hands warm when shooting winter subjects. I use my Thinsulate hunting gloves and a lighter weight glove made for bike riders. The hunting gloves are warm and I can operate the controls on my Nikon 610, D7000 and my Canon 70D without taking off the gloves. But sometimes you have to take off the gloves to get at stuff in your bag or operate other dials on the camera. Robert Rodriguez Jr, a landscape photographer, blogged his winter gear and mentioned the Manzella convertible mittens. When I recevied them it was 27 degrees with a wind chill of 17 degrees. Not only did they keep my hands toasty warm but I could hit my back focus buttons and release the shutter button without uncovering my hand. I couldn't operate the rear dial with my thumb and it was a perfect time to pull the mitten part off to check battery strength and review a shot I just took. Absolutely happy with this test run.Pros:The glove label states it is a Manzella Cascade Convertible / Convertible Fleece glove with the designation "Warmest" in M/L size. I ordered the Large size and the fit is perfect (not sure about the label M/L). When you push the mittten back this glove uses Velcro to hold the mitten part to the glove. I was happy about the Velcro because some other convertibles use magnets. Some reviewers complained about the tightness around the fingers but this was not a problem for me. I didn't bother uncovering my thumb since it was not needed.Very warm - the fleece keeps out any draft coming in from the mitten part. 280g Microfleece Shell, 40g Thinsulate Insulaltion and Fleece lining.Well made. I didn't notice any defects in workmanship.Cons! Only one. Some convertibles have a tab on a finger cover to help pull off the glove. These do not have a tab.I'll update my review when I can test in the teens and if there are any construction issues.

Good glommets
This is my second pair and I use them all the time. They're fairly warm (but when mountaineering I still need a windproof/waterproof shell over them). Fleece is nice and soft. Having a hole for the thumb is crucial for me.The magnet isn't strong enough though. It's better than velcro because the stitching on most velcro isn't very good and it comes apart after a year or 2. But they need stronger magnets to really work well when hiking, bouncing around, in wind, etc.The sewn ring at the tips of the fingers (where the fingers come out of the holes) are too tight, it slightly restricts my circulation and I have skinny fingers. I have to stretch them out when I buy a pair and even then they're too tight. But other brands are even tighter so I keep buying these.

The best!
I used to have a pair of Manzella's that I loved. When I was looking for finger glove/mittens to replace my wornout Outside Research pair, I was ecstatic to find these. They are soft & warm and very well made. Perfect for keeping my hands warm, while allowing for finger dexterity when needed. Manzella does not disappoint.

Warm except for fingers
These convertible mittens are supposed to be for extreme cold weather. I have worn them with temperatures in the 20s and 30s (F); while active and while standing around. They definitely keep my hands warm, but from the middle knuckle to the tips of the fingers, they do not keep warm. They get cold to the point of aching. It helps a little when I'm active, but they still get cold. They do fit well and give me the flexibility to take care of my dog's needs on our walks without having to take off the entire mitten; which is why I purchased them. I am just not happy with the cold fingers.

Being these are men’s and I cannot find them in small, they are a little large, But they are so awesome. They work super well up in Duluth, MN.I’ve not found this quality in women’s sizes and I’ve not found these in men’s small. I’ve given these as gifts and they Love them, men and women

Good for running and photography. Waiting on a women's convertible gloves to be offered.
Very well made gloves overall. I appreciated the thickness of the the fleece and I liked the hand grip material along with the magnet to hold the mitten part back. These gloves would work great for running and photography. In regards to the sewn tips of the fingers, I can see what other reviewers are referring to with the thickness being a bother. The wrists are too loose, allowing cold air to sneak up the gloves as well. I would still use and recommend them, given there doesn't seem to be other well made fleece convertible gloves on the market.Unfortunately, I'm having to return these gloves because I was overly optimistic they would fit my hands, as a woman. The finger length was good, but far too wide for my hands. Only size medium and up was offered, so who knows if size small would have been better. I just looked up these gloves on Manzella's website. The listing claims they also come in women's, but Manzella does not actually have them listed as stated. In fact, Manzella offers twice as many gloves for men than they do for women. Very disappointed.I'm lowering the ratings based on the finger tip and wrist design, not because of the fit.

My go to mitt for snowboarding & BC
I’ve used another pair of their mitts for over 20years. I kept seeing the few seam “blowouts” I’d get every now and then. They rock. Finally felt like I needed another pair and was soooo happy to see they are still in business. These liners are awesome with OR or any other quality shell.

Convertible feature!
The convertible feature of these gloves is very useful when engaged in winter athletics.

Defective product from this vendor/No option for replacement
These are excellent gloves that I have been using for many years. However, the product I received from this vendor was defective (no functional magnet closure) and there was no option to receive an u damaged replacement item.

Funcionales pero no duraderos
Son excelentes para el frio muy cómodos y eficientes pero solamente los use por mes y medio y empecé a notar como ciertas zonas se empezaron a descosturar por lo que su duración es cuestionable

Almost perfect!
Quality is good and comfortable. Pricing is too much and it should be 20-25% lower. I have Mandela gloves before I liked it and I still like this new one.Sizing is doubtful? I ordered and get the Large and it is a bit larger than I need, but I am not going to return/exchange it and ended up with something to small?
