LEVOIT LV-H133-RF High Efficiency HEPA Combo Filter & Activated Carbon Filter Set, Compatible with Levoit Air Purifier LV-H133 White

Having studied filtration methods during my time at university I have a reasonable understanding of filter material, methods and what filters should be used in what application. This is a HEPA filter and as a HEPA filter meets the specific type of high-quality air filter that meets the HEPA filter standard, which is to remove at least 99.97% of particles from the air down to at least 0.3 microns in size. Virus particles are under 0.5 microns in diameter but can be smaller than 0.1 microns. This filter will remove most of them depending how large the room is and where the particles are in relation the the filter to allow them to be drawn in. This filter which fits the Levoit LV-H133 Tower HEPA Air Purifier keeps the air clean and reduces possible viral particles in the air. I run my air filter on medium fan speed continuously day and night. I live in a flat that is about 54-meter squared space. The filter lasts for 6 months before needing changing. I do vacuum the filter mesh surface once a week to remove large dust particles and debris. Behind this coarse, nylon mesh filter is the HEPA filter and then the last layer is the activated carbon filter that removes odours and organic compounds such as microparticles of cooking fats from the kitchen. It’s a good filter and I have not found many other domestic options available that use a true HEPA filter.

This thing is a wonder. I bought my first replacement after the light went on to tell me I should change it. I even took a picture of the new filter next to the 6 months old one. It's amazing how much dust it caught.We had the chance to participate in a study run by a doctor about air pollution, where he left a small item inside the house for 2 weeks, that would gather a sample of particles floating around during that time. He knew about the purifier and said to leave it on as usual, and he was amazed at the result. One of the cleanest results he got from all the tests (we are based in London).I totally recommend this to anyone looking for cleaner air!

Filter does definitely last 6 months, my red light came on after 6 and a half months, however I am a bit of a clean freak and use to hoover the dust of the outside of the filter lol. So not sure if this is why it lasted a bit longer. I’ve took pictures of the old and new one together and even took apart the old one out of curiosity, couldn’t believe the colour of it inside. I can’t recommend this product enough!!!

Some of the questions to which I was asked to give a rating, would be more appropriately asked in relation to the unit as a whole rather than the filter cartridges supplied for it. Regarding the filter cartridges, they appear to be of very good quality, but it's difficult to make an assessment after limited use. I have every confidence that they will perform well.

When I purchased this before it was made more of a cardboard. It is now plastic. I used to feel ,more comfortable with the green footprint and it used to last a lot longer than this plastic. - but if they are not using the cardboard on one any more there is no choice

Filter does it job but very expensive.
