10GbE SPF+ -- Works on MacOS Sequoia (15.1.1) on Macbook Pro (2023) with thunderbolt over USB-C
For Mac users -- THIS ONE WORKS. iperf and iperf confirm 10Gbe, and even better, this is SPF+ so you can put in optical transceivers and avoid super hot RJ45 interfaces.I (like lots of people) have been buying 10GBe/ which claim to be Thunderbolt over USB C or which claim they work on Mac. But usually they don't, and the native driver won't support 10Gb/e. And there's no recent reviews from anyone to confirm. I have bought and returned ~3 "10gbe" and ~2 "5gbe" USBC adapters. This one works :)More details for people googling: this shows up as "Thunderbolt Ethernet Slot 0", e.g. it's using PCIE over thunderbolt. System report shows Thunderbolt 3, chipset is AQC107-B1, driver is native Mac driver "com.apple.driver.AppleEthernetAquantiaAqtion". It uses two PCIe lanes, 2x8GBe, 16Gbe total, enough for 10Gb/e.Make sure your laptop has enough PCIe over thunderbolt lanes for this, especially if you have a 4K monitor etc!!! Most macbooks of recent years have only 4, and some only 2! If you don't have enough lanes this won't work at 10Gb/e!

10g is crazy fast! works great on MacBook!
I am about to get a 5 gigabit fiber install to my home. Prior to upgrading my network, everything was 1 gigabit speeds. i upgraded my router to a GE800 TPLink 10Gbps router (EXCELLENT product), added a total of 3 switches to various parts of my house (Mikrotik CRS305) and ran mixed connectivity between all devices, primarily fiber optic cables since they run much cooler than RJ-45 10g SFPs. There were a couple spots where i had to use 10g RJ-45, one being the LAN connection between my router and switch, and another for my OLED tv as it only has 1Gbps connectivity.Anyways, after installation i used iperf3 to run tests on my network. I added a screenshot of my results :). I am very pleased with this QNAP that i have connected to my MacBook Pro Late 2023. I connected via fiber sfp as i had read about people getting overheating with RJ-45 SFPs. I have had no issues whatsoever. Once I get my internet upgraded to the 5Gbps , ill be pushing the hardware much harder, so i will make sure to provide an update shortly.

Works only about 10% of the time
I purchased 3 of these for 3 completely different Windows 10 (64-bit pro edition) computers, they all do exactly the same thing: They start off strong after a reboot, transferring files at around 1GBps, then after a few minutes, they'll completely drop the connection or slow to a crawl at 15-30 mbps. Every single one of them does this and I doesn't matter which PC they are plugged into. I have tried it on a total of 12 different types of PC's and laptops with thunderbolt connections. I have tried reinstalling drivers, fresh install of Windows 10 Pro, and dozens of other things, nothing fixes it.And no, it's nothing to do with my network or servers because every computer that uses internal (to PCIe port) SFP+ connection runs at around 1.2GBps continuously. These things are just expensive paperweights. I just upgraded my wireless network to WiFi 7 and use that instead, it ends up being many times faster than these garbage QNA products.Another gripe with them is that it is nearly impossible to find the drivers for these things. It's like they purposefully make it as confusing as they possible can by giving the drivers a different name than what the product ID says on the actual units. It's like you have to be one of their engineers to even find the right drivers for these things and then on top of that, the drivers don't even work. It's just the same thing over and over again: Works for a few minutes and then fails.I very much regret purchasing these expensive, useless devices. Stay far away from these things, they are more trouble than they are worth. Go with Wifi 7 or just find another brand of SFP+ to thunderbolt.
