Readable, but riddled with errors
I picked this book up on a whim at a physics conference, on the basis that the book had a section on asymptotic series, which is somewhat unusual. I didn't expect to get a whole lot out of this book, but it did have a few nuggets that I hadn't seen before, which I rather enjoyed (such as Frobenius' generalized power series, and some stuff on Laurent series I wasn't aware of). The book starts out at a basic level and doesn't get particularly technical, but it does show you a number of things you can do with various series. The biggest issue I had was that there's typically one if not two typos per page, often in the equations. A few of the theorems are so opaque that I couldn't even figure out what they were supposed to be saying, and there were a few cases where two theorems presented in order blatantly contradicted each other. It doesn't look like this book was particularly well checked nor edited. I'm giving two stars because I did enjoy what I read, but I honestly can't recommend this for somebody trying to learn the subject due to all of the errors.
