My Pocket Knife Just Joined the Navy.
Alright, landlubbers and aspiring knot-tiers, let me tell you about the latest addition to my collection of things that make me feel slightly more capable than I am: the Myerchin Knives W100P Generation 2 Pro Wood Offshore Rigging System. I saw this thing – a fixed blade knife and a marlinspike? – and thought, "Do I know how to rig anything offshore? Absolutely not. Do I need a tool designed for it? Clearly."When this arrived, it felt like a piece of history. The wood handle harks back to the days of tall ships and salty dogs. It's a handsome knife, solid and well-made, with a classic sheepsfoot blade that looks ready for business (even if the business is just opening a stubborn bag of pretzels). And then there's the marlinspike. Now, the marlinspike. I'll be honest, before this, my knowledge of marlinspikes was limited to vaguely remembering them from nautical movies. Apparently, they're for splicing rope and untying knots that have decided to become one with the universe. While I haven't yet needed to splice any ropes (my knot-tying skills are still in the "can mostly tie my shoes" phase), I have found the marlinspike surprisingly useful for poking things, loosening stubborn knots on packages, and generally feeling like I could, in a pinch, assist a sailor. It's a tool that inspires confidence, even if that confidence is currently misplaced. The knife blade itself is sharp and the sheepsfoot design is practical. It feels sturdy and capable. The German Marine stainless steel gives me confidence that it won't rust away if I accidentally leave it near a damp sponge (or, you know, the ocean, should I ever find myself on a boat). It comes with a heavy-duty leather sheath that fits snugly on a belt, and a bonus leather lanyard strap, which is a nice touch. Wearing it, I feel like I should be squinting at the horizon and occasionally saying things like "Ahoy!" or "Shiver me timbers!"If you appreciate well-crafted tools, have a fondness for nautical aesthetics (even if your only boat is a rubber duck in the bathtub), or just need a seriously capable knife and a pointy friend for untying things, this rigging system is fantastic. It's a piece of quality gear that makes me feel a little more prepared for life's unexpected knots (both literal and metaphorical). I'm thoroughly impressed.

Amazing marlinspike and knife!
This is my first impression will update this as time goes by.I LOVE it, it feels great in the hand! I was looking for a marlin spike and this one is amazing quality, the point is ground to a great shape that is pointy enough but not to the point where it could damage a lineThe knife feels great quality as well, the handle is nice of the hand and realy like that the thickness of the blade goes all the way through te handleThe sheath is good, but not great. It has an eyelt that the blade hits depending on the angle you slide it in.Overall:Marlinspike 10/10Knife 10/10Sheath 7.5/10

Excellent Quality
Well, it’s just a rigger’s knife but it does exude high quality. The knife arrived in somewhat Applesque packaging hinting at it’s careful craftsmanship, practical capacity and durability. The knife is beautifully finished, has a thick, one piece blade and tang which runs through the handle to a lanyard eye and the handle has a very comfortable and secure grip. The blade also contains a shackle key and has a fine edge right out of the box. The nicely polished marlin spike with shackle key is a useful bonus and the sheath is also very well crafted from nice leather. I selected the serrated version because I needed a fixed blade knife to meet the equipment requirements of a solo sailing challenge I’d planned to enter and this version seemed best for making quick cuts in an emergency. Having seen the quality of this knife, however, I ordered a second one with the standard blade to keep in my rigger’s bag. So long to the el cheap o folding knives I’ve been using!
