Very simple install. Sounds great. Not drony
I listened to a lot of exhausts on youtube for the pentastar jk. Some were obnoxiously loud, some sounded like a muffler/resonator delete w/popping and backfiring, while others sounded like Uncle Ben put a fart can on his honda accord. This one was the only one that seemed to give the jeep a little more throaty sound and not be a drony mess. It is tough for me though, i have built a turbo miata, 2nd gen rx7, and put a borla on my hemi commander (that i recently sold for this vehicle). Those vehicles have their own distinctly agressive sounds with very different powerplants. I think i dont love the sound of a dohc v6 in general. This exhaust system isnt bad though. Tame cold start, idle has a slight rumble, and fairly quiet when i shift at lower rpms. Comes alive under throttle just as you would expect. I dont know if it is the hard top, the fact that i am used to the difference between this exhaust and stock, or some other factor, but it seems to have quieted down over the last 1k miles.Install was easy. Pb blast all bolts the night before, and maybe get one of those hanger removal tools to make your life easier. I also took a few minutes to paint the exhaust using high temp black paint after taping off the muffler (already coated).Definitely worth the sub $400 price point

Easy on. A little loud at take off
2016 JKUR. The stock muffler was a bear to get off. Had to cut the clamp and part it’s pipe. Use lots of penetrating oil. PB Blaster is your friend. After fighting with the old exhaust the new set up went on in less than 1 minutes.Start up at idle gives a good little throaty tone. Getting hard on the throttle at low rpm/speed- it’s a bit loud. Highway drone disappears at 50 and above. It may be a little louder due to my cold air intake.Quality parts. Tucks up nice and close. No rattles from the heat shield as other have reported.

Perfect fit. Sounds good for a muffler swap
Perfect fit. Sounds good for a muffler swap. What people who put bad reviews up don't understand is these are modern day VVT 6 cylinder engines. This is not a push rod old school engine. It will not sound " beefy " or " deep ". That's just not possible. This system does have a nice tone to it. A "deeper" tone yes but it's not going to shake any Windows. Mine doesn't sound like a lowered Honda tho. The sound fades out at high speed, low RPM ranges so freeways are great.I'm happy with the product. I also put the AFE Intake on my jeep. Great combo with a tuner and that will give you more truck like sound. Still it's a V6.Install is easy if you have basic tools, WD-40 and an exhaust hanger tool. Good luck without one, it's worth 12 bucks.

Baby Growl
I have an ACE flat rear bumper which really showed the ugly, bulky stock exhaust. I you tubed and read reviews on a lot of systems and this one gives most bang for the money. Someone ran into the back of my Jeep recently and bummed up stock so perfect time to purchase. I like how it is tucked up under the body. With my back bumper you can see the muffler which is ok. Looking back I should have ordered black or had this painted before installation. Installation was part of repairs so cannot speak to how easy or difficult it was to install. It has a nice little growl when you crank up and at a low speed. When you are on highway and accelerate it is noticeable but not irritating or overwhelming. The hubs said he can hear me turn into our street b/t tires and muffler and hey that’s alright!

Five Stars
Best bang for the buck!!! Easy install (2016 Jeep Wrangler 2 door, yes it fits, double checked with AFE before purchase). Highly recommend!!!!!! Sounds great, less weight! Looks perfectly stock, but has very nice sound.Remember, to get the stock muffler off, you need to rock it up and down prior to pulling it straight back. You might also spay a little lube into the connection. The AFE instructions do not mention this, nor do they suggest the exhaust hanger removal tool, which is also a huge time saver / help. Be mindful, your jeep is a 6 banger, if you are expecting a V8 rumble, your going to be disappointed.

Heavy drone in cab
Like a previous buyer mentioned, it's rather noisy in the cab. Sort of reminded me of the sound of one of those annoying import cars the younger generation drives. Sent back. Product was well made but I found the sound too annoying. Loved the idle note but the drone in the cab was too much. Btw, I have a 2 door JK.

Recommended, but it's not for everyone
So this is a weird review because I actually ended up returning the product. But, even with that being the case, I still wanted to recommend this muffler and give props to the folks at amazon.Pros:- Quick ship with Prime- Product well packaged, complete- Simple installation (save yourself a huge headache and get a pair of exhaust removal pliers)- Nice fit, looks great on the Jeep- Awesome rumble when down-shifting- Amazon actually let me return it! Come on. Return a muffler? Yep.Cons (just my opinion, yours may vary):- It was a bit louder and had more drone than I expected. This is my daily driver so I'm probably just being overly critical. If it was a weekend toy I wouldn't have had an issue. Or maybe I'm just getting old.- Obviously the Jeep (2011 JK Wrangler) is a V6, so it's NEVER gonna have the sweet, sweet tone of a V8, but this just seemed a bit more tinny that I had could reasonably accommodate. People told me they liked it, but at the end of the day I didn't like it... and that's what matters. So yeah, it's a good system at a great price. I didn't care for the sound, but that may be just me. Check out videos on line before buying. Well, I actually did that, and now in retrospect I think I should have known better.
