High quality materials, affordable price
I've been wearing these for just over a month and I'm very impressed. I was immediately impressed with the quality of materials at the price point. The soles absorb impact well, the tread is not foam or plastic-like (like many cheap footwear), manufacturing quality is superior to many name- brands I've purchased (no glue excess or loose threads). You can feel the quality when you hold them. Will be purchasing again.

Shoes ok, BUT could be better. Not really 4 stars
Well, trying to use these every day to break them in. They are stiffer than previous footwear I've owned. Someone asked me if the "tongue was gusseted".I said no & no tongue loop for the laces.Well I stand corrected to a point. The tongue is gusseted BUT, only about half way. Not the entire tongue. But still no tongue loop for the laces. Shoes seems to be pretty good quality, sole thickness seems pretty good, BUT, 3/4 to all day comfort.... NO !! That's why I day it's really about a 3.5 to 3.75 star rating at its best....

Most likely diminished by market research or tough negotiation to meet a price point.
This is an item that I believe suffers from some market research or some tough negotiating by the wholesaler to meet a price point so that the Chinese factory looking to make this happen shaves little bits here and there from the quality of the product. The fact is that with perhaps a $5.00 higher price point, Nortiv could have made a truly great shoe. It does keep the foot dry. A Plus for waterproof. The shoe appears to be really well constructed. I ordered a 14W but the toe-box feels a little constrained in with so that my little toes feel right up against the side of the shoe with no breathing room.Next, There is no real insole to speak of, only the thinnest padding on the bottom of the shoe so that you feel the hard outer sole against the bottom of your foot. Your will definitely need to by an insole. But when you do, guess what, Your foot feels more constrained. I solved this by putting in a half (heel) insole. Then if you add in thermal socks, I would recommend that you size up. Also, and last for this review, I want to say that the shoestrings provided are too short. I can barely double tie the knot on the shoe. I think this product can be made to work so I am keeping mine, but I would not reorder this particular low top hiking shoe again.

Great value
Brand new, feels good, a decent shoe , price was great for it. Really nice looking shoe. My only complaint is that the area were the big toe is a little bit tight.

Pretty good but not great
Pretty good but not perfect. I bought a size 12 and they run large...but that's ok...provides room for thicker socks and arch inserts. I do have high arches and the insoles which come with these shoes are worthless, so I ordered a pair of high-arch inserts. The shoes appear well-made, but they are heavy and rather clunky, and very, very stiff. That may ease as I wear em. Overall, not the fit and finish of Merrell or Columbia, and seem really heavy for a shoe in this class, but I'm sure that with time, I'll like 'em more.
