Excellent!!!
I love it!!! This ukulele is a bargain. It's Mahalo, so it's wonderfully constructed, and the colors of the Rainbow Series are so vibrant and beautiful! My ukulele was packaged very securely, too.The reviews about these ukuleles being *waaay* out of tune make me giggle. Of course they are! No guitar-like instrument ever comes tuned right out of the box. Be happy it was pre-strung!Having said that, yes. It is very out of tune out of the box. However, it hasn't taken too long for the detuning to be less often and dramatic for my ukulele. I received it last night, and tonight it's already holding its tuning more consistently. I know it'll be even better as the days go on. You just have to keep tuning and playing, and eventually the nylgut strings will stretch and will start to hold their tuning. All in all, this is a great ukulele, and I highly recommend it for first-time or long-time players!

Great Quality Ukulele!
I bought this ukulele for my daughter because she has been begging for one for months and she finally saved up some money. I figured I would purchase one that was not too expensive because it is her first one and who knows how long she will use it. Well, that was two months ago and she plays it almost everyday! Even with that much use, it still looks great and is holding up without any issues. Initially it needed to be tuned frequently. Not it keeps its tune longer. It is shiny and looks beautiful. We got the black one and we are not disappointed. It came with a carry bag wth a short strap. The bag does not provide much protection and is thin. It is nice to store the ukulele in and keep off the dust. The instrument was easy to tune and has a good sound. My other daughter has a much more expensive one and this one compares equally. A nice place to start!

The paint job is very nice. It sounds good for a soprano uke
The paint job is very nice. It sounds good for a soprano uke. I have bought 2 of these in different colors, blue and green. Had to return the green one because the strings were too high above the frets, compared to the other uke. So it sounded slightly out of tune when playing certain chords, even though it was perfectly in tune when playing open strings. The bridges were exactly the same. The difference was that the saddle wasn't cut deep enough for the bridge on that 2nd uke, raising the strings. Rather than fix it myself by cutting the slot deeper or filing down the bridge, I submitted a return request and got the replacement in 2 days! So great customer service! It's a soprano uke, and perfect for beginners and people with small enough fingers. I fell in love with it while getting it in tune for my daughters (be ready to tune for days before it starts to hold a tune, at first every few seconds... but that is normal), and had to get one for myself. I opted for a concert-size uke because it is a little bit bigger and the frets are slightly further apart, allowing my bigger fingers to play chords I found hard on the soprano, like a simple G7.The quality is good, and the price is great. This isn't a toy instrument like you'll find in Walmart or Target. It is perfect to learn on and sounds reasonably good. But once the person is ready to move up, get a concert-sized uke. It sounds richer and deeper (and louder) due to the slightly larger size, and not that much more expensive, although it may not come in the range of colors you can get with this one. But as a starter (esp for someone you're not sure will stick with the instrument), I highly recommend it due to the low price and good quality. And the uke is so much fun to play!No discount was received for this review. Paid full price.

Excellent beginner ukulele!!
I was very surprised when u received this ukulele. The carrying case it came with isn't one for protecting it but is useful. The ukulele itself has a nice finish to it, doesn't look like a toy. The strings are Aquila Super Nyglut and they are amazing as have a good feel/sound , I wasn't disappointed. For such a cheap price , this ukulele is amazing for those starting out or practicing. It's not super high quality sound and finish , but it still looks good and sounds really well. Recommend to anyone! Great ukulele

Pretty and good sound.
My wife loves it and it sounds great, once she tuned it. The digital tuner and extra strings are a definite plus. It’s a beautiful ukulele.

Just okay -- depends on your needs
I am an adult beginner ukulele player with less than a year's experience. I currently own a beginner concert uke (a little bigger) of a different brand and wanted to try a soprano uke without breaking the bank.I'm going to agree with some other reviewers that this probably best for a child to just play around. It DOES play but doesn't sound great and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is seriously trying to learn the ukulele. Some the edges were a little rough and caught my fingers a couple times. If this had been the first one I ever tried, I would've been frustrated. Actually I WAS frustrated anyway and decided to return it. It doesn't sound or play that great but you get what you pay for. Some additional observations....*Looks nice. No scratches. I purchased directly from Amazon.*It does play chords and tunes like a "real" ukulele but sounds like a toy. It does not come with a tuner so you will need to purchase one or use your phone app. Tuning is not optional. When uke arrives, all strings are tuned to "G."*Keep in mind, ALL ukulele strings need time to break in. No uke will stay in tune for long at first. Depending on how often you play it, it can take several weeks for it to stay in tune for a reasonable length of time. Be patient.*Case is made from material similar to reusable grocery store bags. Keeps off dust but no serious protection.Bottom line: I don't recommend this purchase for someone who is serious about learning ukulele. If you just want something cheap for a kid to play around with, then it might be okay.
