I received the "FAN ERROR" message on my Lenovo Thinkpad x220 Tablet. Tried using compressed air to blow it out but still the error. I ordered this part and received in 2 days. With the help of several youtube videos, I was able to remove the motherboard and replace the fan. There are lots of screws (15-20), and circuits to unplug but it is doable if you take your time and carefully watch as you remove things so you can put them back EXACTLY the way you removed them. I was able to do it on the first try and start to finish it took about 1 hour. The laptop started up perfectly with no errors and the new fan is whisper quiet and works perfectly.

The part has been received within the 10 days and we'll packed. This is a brand new part. It is delivered with the specific glue.Installed and working perfectly. PC will survive few more years.Thank you 😊

Ordered this to replace a failed cooling fan in a Lenovo Thinkpad. Took out the old fan and this one fit back in perfectly. Build quality was excellent and fit exactly. Put everything back together and now the laptop functions liken new. From the beginning my original fan would spool up and be a bit noisy but this one is whisper quiet. I monitor the CPU temp and find this fan does a great job of keeping temp within limits yet it is very quiet. Very glad I chose this unit to replace old one.

well priced and quick delivery. worked flawlessly. this is not a slam dunk install however. you have to really take your time and get it all correct. that said, it works great and happy that my workhorse computer is back in the game.

The fan/heatsink fit properly. After only a few days it is still working just fine. Time will tell. So hopefully this has added a couple more years to my X220. Thermal paste was pre-applied on the one I received. And they included a small amount of thermal paste in a small container. Fingers crossed all goes well.Update: After 17 months still working great.

Uncertain the exact cause on my x220, but the system went from a fan error to not booting at all. Perhaps there's a short? Have not had time to dig into and figure out the issue, tried multiple reinstalls cleaning the product and CPU and reapplying paste. Really was hoping for this to breathe a few more years into my laptop.

My laptop wouldn't start. Before it died, it displayed a message saying "Fan error," so I dreaded having to disassemble my laptop to replace it. Luckily, Lenovo uses only two types of screws, but even that didn't save me from the reassemble with one screw extra error. It actually took me three attempts of disassembling and reassembling to get the computer to operate again, but with each subsequent attempt, I got better and better at it and was even able to find where the extra screw went. Prior to my laptop's meltdown, it would run so hot that even with a thermal mat, my thigh was developing red blotches from the heat. After replacing the fan, it runs cool even when I'm running CPU intensive games with my Android emulator. $20 fan versus hundreds replacing my laptop? So glad I opted for this fan.
