Easy DIY, well built product, handle feels sturdy
For me, this hardware fits well with the Ply Gem (or American Craftsmen) patio sliding doors that come with blinds in between the glass. I purchased my patio sliding doors at Home Depot. So if you have a similar type of patio door, know that this product most likely is a standard fit for replacing your patio door hardware. I accidentally broke my old latch and mortise lock mechanism. So I purchased this hardware kit that comes with indoor handle, outdoor handle, latch, mortise lock, and screws of different lengths depending on your door. I successfully installed this product to my patio door DIY. Very easy, no need to overpay handyman. There is a YouTube video that teaches you how to install this type of hardware. The only word of advice is to be careful with getting the mortise lock into the frame because if you are not careful, the mortise lock can fall into the frame and then getting it out can be a hassle. A DIY YouTube video showed a reliable trick where you can use pliers to grip the latch while inserting the mortise lock into the frame without risk of falling into the frame. After, you screw the mortise lock and secure it. The handles and latch are a straightforward install. The white color of the product is the same as my patio door frame and the handle is very sturdy, very nice built for the value. Easy 5 stars. Also, nice touch with the product demo video using Eyes On Me song, as a Final Fantasy VIII fan, I approve!

Good for the price, easy install, replaced handle on 25 year old sliding deck door
Fits great replacing original 1997 installed handle. The lock is smooth, upgraded locking feel vs original.Looks good on the door.Install took less than 10 minutes with just a Phillips #2 bit. I also used a pair of needles pliers to hold the mechanism in place while threading the screws thu the handle.Good value for the money, I might get a second for downstairs.I purchased to replace the original builder grade handle on my house built in 1997, works perfect. While it isn't high end I do think it is an upgrade, for ND finish are good for the price.

Make very sure you know how to install this thing. The interior latch is not the easiest thing to install. It works well, though.

Fits Blomberg slider from 1980
Fits Blomberg slider from 1980. This door handle set fit my Blomberg slider that had original hardware. The modification needed is a 19/64 drill bit due to the new handle having tabs that fit into the frame. The original handle did not have tabs and evey pull on the handle flexed the screws and cracked the outside handle. The mechanism fit without modification. The mechanism locks and unlocks perfectly. Again , the only mods are drilling the screw holes a bit. When taking out old mechanism/ installing new mech make sure you do not drop it.. you will need some large Neodymium magnets to pull the mech up if you do. Place a door handle screw threw bottom mounting hole to prevent dropping the mech.

PELLA Replacement perfect fit!
Pella sliding door? This is a fit!Latch is free floating, not attached to the handle (affixing the handle to the door keeps it in place) so it will align with any configuration of pre existing lock for easy replacement.Wish I had found this one first!

This product looks good but is extremely difficult to make it work
This product is extremely difficult to install due to several reasons as followed:1. See the two alignment nipples on the handle in pic 1? Those nipples are too long, and also a bit too big in diameter due to the thick coat of baked-on paint. To make it work, you need to grind down the nipples a little and scrap off the paint ( or enlarge existing holes in your door frame). Unless you are handy and have the tools, correct size drill bits and a grinder and/ or assortment of files, this product will not work for you.2. Refer to picture 2. These screws are way too short to hold with your fingers to install. If you don't have magnetic screw drivers, these screws will not work for you. May be you have an 8 year old with good eyes and small hands to help you?3. The latching assembly ( the piece with the hooking latch, pic 3) is just a tad too thick. To make it work, you will need to enlarge the slot in your patio door, so that when you tighten down the hold-down screws, the assembly will be flush. Otherwise the striker (hook) will not come out far enough to engage the latch (installed into the wall studs of the door opening). Again you will need an assortment of filing tools.4. The adjustment screw is not long enough. I max'ed out the adjustment screw on mine to make it work. Although this is not solely the manufacture's fault, they could design their product to accommodate for lack of perfect square in the actual patio door as a result of the house settling down over time, etc.5. Overall, it feels like the product is designed and made by people who have no ideal how it will be used in real life situation. Or, perhaps the manufacturer do not have the machine tools in their factory to hold down the manufacturing tolerances needed. Or, they have no idea of dimensional tolerance is. Or they just don't care. However, the product DOES look good and clean in pictures. I don't recommend it unless you are handy and have the time. I t took me well over an hour for what should be a 15 minute job.6. With all the extra work I had to do to install this product, I'd say it is worth about $8.
