Great WITH careful installation.
Our dryer had the 'slinky'-foil exhaust duct originally. Those are lint traps in and of themselves and are easily pinched off and impede airflow. So, if your goal is to smash your dryer back against a wall as far as you can, buy more 'slinky' duct. This duct is not for you! This duct kit is a good compromise between ridged, cut to fit duct and 'slinky' duct. But it needs to be handled properly when installing.Hint 1: To install the white hose caps, gently expand the end of duct end from the edge for about 1/2". That will spread the ribs of the duct enough to for the threads on the inside of the end-cap to screw on. Note that the end-cap screws on in the opposite direction than what you would think (there's a arrow molded into the cap.) You'll need to hold the duct firmly (without crushing) to screw the end-cap on. You can do it yourself if you have big hands but you may need a helper for this. I did it by sitting down with the duct across my lap and hugging the duct against my gut while twisting on each end-cap (it will get quite hard to turn).Hint 2: The end-caps have a flange to prevent you from crushing the hose against the wall for the inevitable 90 degree turns needed at each. Slide an end-cap onto the wall duct first. Position the white flange away from the you'll be bending the first turn, then gently stretch and turn the duct only as much as needed to guide it toward the dryer duct. Slide that other end-cap onto the dryer and test.Hint 3: If you have a stacked washer/dryer setup you have more hoses and cords to deal with as you guide the duct to its destination. Cords and hoses are usually more flexible so give the duct the straightest path you can. (Use zip-ties to gather hoses and cords out of the way.)Hint 4: If you accidentally crush a section of the duct, slide you arm int and push the dent back out from the inside as much as possible. (Don't ask me how I know that!!)

So easy
I wrestled with those flimsy aluminum pieces you buy at the box stores and did nothing but cuss and cut myself. My vent hook up is located inside a wooden pedestal someone built for the water heater. Stupid set up, but that's what it is. In order to hook up my vent I could only use one arm and it was difficult, to say the least, to try and get the usual tubing onto the vent without crushing it and forget about securing it with the clamps! I keep wondering who makes a 4" tube to fit on a 4"vent? ...makes absolutely no sense. This product saved my sanity. It slipped on easily but is firmly attached. It's been several months now and it is working like a charm. The aluminum is tough, but not so tough that it can't be manipulated and the fittings on each end are amazing. I highly recommend this product! BRAVO DEFLECTO!
