Awesome chair, but be sure you like kneeling chairs before you buy
In my search for the most comfortable chair for myself, this was the one I decided upon after a long time of research. It works fantastically for me.That being said, kneeling chairs are not for everyone. Even for myself, sitting in a kneeling chair for long periods of time took some getting used to. Before I made this purchase, I had my work purchase me a smaller cheaper kneeling chair for use in the office. After using that for awhile, I knew it was time to make the purchase and use this at home. The backrest is sorta funny. If you're sitting in a kneeling chair the way its meant to be sat in (stop slouching, chump!), you shouldn't be using it. But sometimes when I'm reading, or doing less intense things on the computer (I'm on the computer a lot between work, school, and hobbies... Anywhere from 10-14+ hours a day) I will find myself not sitting up properly. Although, my first kneeling chair (and most of the ones you will find) do not have a backrest since it usually defeats the purpose.I personally like having the option of slouching a little while I'm reading, or leaning back when I'm working with a tablet or some other device than the computer. But if you sit in this chair and try to use the backrest all the time, you're gonna have a bad time.If your reasoning for buying this kneeling chair over any other is that it has a backrest.... Stop. Do some research into chair ergonomics, and decide what you want to try.

still looking for a new kneeling chair
I have used this kneeling chair for a couple of days but it is not an optimal replacement for my existing backless one which was manufactured by Izzy Design who is no longer in business. I will keep the Izzy chair and use it at another office I have used a kneeling chair continuously since 1985 and am an experienced user who needs to have a chair on a swivel mount to easily see six-eight computer monitors.I have three simple issues. 1. the vertical height of the knee pad is too low relative to the swivel mount so my size 13 feet (I know my feets too big) need to be positioned just so and once positioned I have limited swivel-ability. 2. the front seat is slanted too dramatically and is not adjustable so once I move my feet to allow more swivel-ability i basically feel i am slipping off the chair. if I move a foot to the floor to get optimal swivel-ability the slipping off feeling gets worse. 3. the Knee rest needs to be wider (not deeper) maybe by 4 inches as my knees feel like they could slip off one side or another if I am not careful I don't have these problems with the 12 year old Izzy Chair but it is looking worn.If there is a better alternative out there I'd be happy to purchase and would keep this one too.

Lifesaver for those with a bad back
We all need a good desk chair, and this one fit the need very well. The good - it is solid. The base is so dang sturdy, there's no way it will get a dent. There are cars that have door panels thinner than the metal base here, no kidding. The great - it does force me to sit upright. Three months now and I have changed my posture habits. Prior to this purchase I had to go to the chiropractor twice a week for a couple of months. I knew it was my lousy office chair that was destroying my already bad back. Last year I got a new job that keeps me at a desk full time, something that my body just wasn't used to. And the old chair wasn't up to the task of me sitting eight to ten hours a day. I'm not large - 5'6', 125 lbs, so sitting for lengths of time usually is okay, if the chair is suited for the task. This one IS suited to it.The not so good - a vital bolt was missing, rendering the chair useless until a replacement bolt was shipped. A simple call to the customer service number, a quick explanation, and about four days later a small package arrived that contained the entire assembly pieces - all the bolts, caps, etc. It was overkill, but okay, I appreciated the response and was satisfied. The also not so good - the fabric on the kneeler pad bunches down. I know how to fix this, and it is a pity that the designers didn't do it themselves. The friction of kneeling on it all day forces the fabric down. Just like on any decent sofa or chair, there always is a second underlayer of fabric that allows the top layer to slide ever-so-slightly. This clearly does not have it. Because of the memory foam, the fabric actually catches itself on the foam and essentially gets stuck there. I can lift it up and move it back. Or, better, when the urge so moves me, I will remove the kneeling pad, dis-assemble it, put a layer of cloth under it, and then re-assemble it. Done. The really NOT good - the chair was not level, it leans to one side. I didn't quite notice it at first, maybe the first day or two, but then I was noticing a dull ache in my back that I knew was not from sitting straight up. I looked at the chair, and yep, it was leaning - and significantly so. However, my darling hubby is a mad genius of sorts, and took a stray piece of metal that was about the diameter of a small Post-It note and the thickness of a nickel, and shimmed it up under the base post on one side. Problem solved. It was leaning before, now it is upright. That little bit made all the difference. I think my chair was made on a Friday or a Monday and lacked the quality control that it should have had!Last, no, this chair is not for everyone, but it is a lifesaver for me. I have a terrible back. Three fractured vertebrae over twenty years ago on top of minor scoliosis and now arthritis in my spine has made my back really a mess. Finding a chair that will allow me to sit for hours and do my job was critical. And now I have to only visit the chiropractor once every six weeks or so instead of twice weekly. THAT makes this chair worth every single penny. But, it will take work to learn how to sit on this kind of chair!!! If you are a person who always slouches, forget it. You'll never get the benefit of this chair and you'll think this is terrible. I was willing to invest in my core, sit straight and work at it, and now I do love this chair. (Despite the missing bolt and the leaning to one side!)I almost never use the backrest. Once in a rare while I will lean back when I am taking a quick think break or something, but other than that, the back rest doesn't serve much purpose. However, it is nice to have from time to time - but leaning back to it is a rather awkward position.
