Q: Before ordering i want the exact dimensions. description says 10". i read somewhere the older version is longer. has anyone purchased recently?

It is shorter than the older version. It is only long enough to cover the letter keys on a standard keyboard. It is NOT long enough to cover the number pad on the keyboard. If you don't use the number pad, then you won't care.

Q: What is the true width laying flat? The descriptions refer to 10" and most full keyboards are about 17". A bit confused...Help?

Mine is exactly 17 x 2.5 inches. I have two, overlapped as well as 2 imak mouse wrist wrests. I like a lot of coverage and they feel nice. I wish they were longer too, but it's actually the same width of my keyboard, but my arms come in at different angles periodically so I like more coverage. They get dusty looking over time but it's worth it to me for the way it feels.

Nothing on this is 6 inches... its ~17.5 long about 2.5 inches wide and about 1 inch thick. I highly recommend, I was having wrist problems before i bought these, now I have none.
