I used to use the Shea Moisture coconut and hibiscus smoothie which was great. For some reason I stopped using it and have tried various butters and curling creams for my two strand twists.But recently I saw a few YouTube videos reviewing the Shea Moisture JBCO smoothie. I tried it in combination with a light leave in conditioner and Aloe Vera gel. It's been a week and I love the results. I was nervous about flakes based on some reviews but have not experienced any flaking. My hair is shiny with a light hold, no crunchiness. Also I have high porosity hair and may hair has remained moisturized about 4 days in.I was nervous about the ACV as an ingredient but I suspect that helps close the cuticle for high porosity hair to keep it moisturized.Alternatively the people who experienced flaking may have low porosity hair so it would make sense with the ACV that it may not be a good fit for low porosity hair.

I am a naturalista who has spent hundreds of dollars on products that promised to make my hair less of a tangled, split end infested, dried thicket of nondescript mess and into a manageable, well moisturized head of curls. Regardless of the hacks, products and natural hair advice I followed, my hair remained unmoved. It would tangle at the least puff of wind and laugh off finger detangling. Then I used this product, and the difference in my hair's texture was almost instant. It was softer and could be combed through without knots, pain,or having to brace legs against a wall just to muster the strength to work the comb through my tresses. It also smoothed my hair in a way that no gel or edge tamer has ever done, At this stage, this is one of the only two products I use almost daily on my hair.For me, this really was a miracle and I hope Shea Moisture never changes the recipe.

This product has definitely strengthened my hair, I leave it in as it advises and comb the product throughout my hair almost like a detangler and style as desired. It doesn't flake it smells great and it protects my hair from shedding which is a plus!! This is a permanent part of my weekly hair regimen, it is a must have!! FYI I have natural (I've been natural for over 12 years) 4C hair...

This line saved my hair. It’s still a working progress but my curls are definitely coming back the deep conditioner is amazing I started using that first and it really has helped. The back of my hair is so beautiful now I’m just trying to transition the rest of my curls

I will need people purchased for myself but it worked better on my husband’s hair. He absolutely loves this product. I purchased the shampoo, washout conditioner and the smoothing moisturizer. He says these products are amazing.

Unfortunately, I had to send the JBCO back to the seller for a refund. When I got to Whole Foods to pick it up I sat down at their dining area to examine the smoothie. First, I noticed that it was watered down, if I had turned it upside down the product would have spilled. Then I noticed it had a sweet smell like coconut. I also found a piece of short white hair in the product and last the product was used. I returned the product, it never made it in my shopping bag, let alone my holy grail shelf. Thank you for the refund. I’m not mad but I was disappointed because I had to drive far to get this product at Sally’s Beauty. When I got there I found all my Shea moisture products so I don’t even have to shop on online anymore. I never used this product when I ordered it. I read the reviews and when I received it the smoothie from Amazon I knew something was off and sure enough when I got the real smoothie there was a huge difference.I just want to say to the Buyer. This smoothie is thick, creamy textured product. It smells like play dough. Also, if you turn it upside down it will not spill out of the jar, the product should not be all over the inside of the top or messy, It’s very firm. When buying Shea moisture products go to YouTube, there’s plenty of demos on all the product from smell to textures. Moving forward I will be purchasing at the stores. I gave 1 star for the honest and rightfully refund.
