Loved this item for my daughter
Loved this item for my daughter, she's blind and autistic and loves music. She plays a rhythm and sings along to it. They are much sturdier than we thought they would be. She's chewed on it quite a bit (Sensory input thing) and it hasn't splintered at all. Very impressive since the "chewable" toys I get her never last. She really likes that one is textured so she will both beat them or rub them together depending on what mood she is in. Also, the noise is actually tolerable, not that ear piercing sound some wood has when you hit it together. Wonderful toy!

Great quality
These are EXACTLY what I was looking for when I searched out Rhythm Sticks for my 0-3 music class! One of the sticks is smooth, the other has ridges, and they have that pretty wooden sound that you expect. The quality is great. No chipping paint here! There's even a little card of different musical/beat games and activities to play with your kiddos!

Multiple Uses at a Brilliant Price
First of all, I didn't buy these for a child, but for an adult friend of mine who makes Jamaican-style music (Reggae and Dub). While these are labeled as a "toy" or for children, they can also be utilized for just about anything music related. The paint is durable, and the diameter is thin enough to accommodate a myriad of hand sizes. The sound is what you would expect from a Rhythm Stick, and to be honest, why would you pay the up-mark for music-specific branded ones?Overall, a solid buy for all ages.

Great for babies and toddlers
Musical instruments are some of the best toys for kids and these rhythm sticks serve so many purposes. First, something fun and exciting to stare at, then something interesting to grasp, then something to actually make music with. I bought these after using a similar pair in a baby music class and they have been a big hit and continue to be as my son grows. Great product!

Fun music sticks!
I purchased 2 sets of these for my children for Christmas. We have enjoyed playing with these a lot, and I appreciated the insert with suggestions on how to get them started with using them along with a song. :)

Great for music exploration, but OUCH! :-)
We use these in the music classes I take with my 9 month old son. All of the babies love them and they are fun to explore with (at this age, that means the occasional hitting together or on the floor, but more likely, mouthing and waving around). We bought these for my son for Christmas and have enjoyed making music with them. However, we don't leave them out for regular play. Within the first 10 minutes, he managed to whack my ankle bone (OUCH), one of our poor dogs as she walked by (she was okay, just something to be careful of!), and then himself. So, now we keep the play sessions short and directed. We probably always will since I can see these being a great impromptu 'weapon' during imaginative play. Can you tell I grew up with a younger brother? ;-)

Missing stick
I was not aware that the sticks or stick I should say, was included in the shipment of wine glasses until I received the request for a review. The stick not sticks, was hidden under packing material and I did not see it. The bag for the sticks was open on one end and there was only one stick. It’s just not worth the hassle for me to return the stick.

Great for musical play!
Music classes can be expensive, so I was looking for things my daughter and I could play with at home. These wooden rhythm sticks are fantastic. First of all, I like that one stick is smooth and the other has ridges. At some stores you can only get two smooth sticks. The other thing I like about this set of sticks is that it comes with activity ideas, which is good because I wasn't really sure what to do with them. If you are looking for something relatively inexpensive that your child can use to explore music this is a good choice.
