This is heavy duty and made with solid wood so you can use it with hot waffles to mould directly onto the cone (you wouldn’t be able to do this safely had it been plastic!). It's really well crafted too with a smooth finish and no splintering of the wood; I think it would also be useful for crafts purposes if you wanted to use it for making cone shapes with something besides waffles.
