Worth the cost
I couldn’t be happier with this purchase - good riddance to plastic ice cube trays! Just flip it over, run warm water over the bottom, maybe a tap or two, and the perfect cubes drop into the lid. No need for a silicone lid cover as someone else suggested. These trays look nice in my freezer, and the extra bonus to the lids - they keep any freezer odors from permeating the ice (which is an issue with the silicone ones). Happy I got this version (large cubes) instead of the retro one with the lever. The six cubes are the perfect size for my iced coffee and the stainless steel will last forever. Get it!

Great non plastic option
Sometimes the cubes break kind of half in the tray, I need to see if that changes if I move them to a different part of the freezer, but it doesn't bother me I would rather have that than another plastic thing touching my food and drink.

Great– but don't follow the instructions
I've had these trays for several months now and I love them. The ice cubes are the perfect size, the lids keep freezer debris off the ice, the steel freezes water quickly and there's no sign of wear or rusting. With that said, I do have two complaints– but they're easily fixable.1. The usage recommendation. Filling the lid with water and waiting for the cubes to loosen makes a huge mess and isn't always successful. The water either cools too fast or is too hot and melts the ice.Solution: Instead of taking the lid off just leave it on, flip the tray upsidedown and run lukewarm water across the bottom. Then, you can just press on the bottom of the cubes and they'll pop right out.2. The lid. It's a pain to open because the outer lip prevents your fingers from getting a good grip.Solution: Look up "silicone glass cover" on Amazon. I bought the flower shaped ones with a little handle on top, they're only like $6 and they solve the lid issue perfectly. After running the tray under water, the silicone suctions to the lid and it comes right off without any mess or hassel.Even with these two complaints, I still think they're worth 5 stars. Every other ice cube tray is either plastic or aluminum with a flimsy handle and these are sturdy and plastic-free.

Hard to remove ice cubes
Very difficult if not impossible to get the ice cubes out. Same goes for the lid of each of the tray. I would’ve returned these except that I support small women own businesses so I decide to keep them.

Easy to Get Ice Released from Tray
Perfect! No trouble getting the ice out of the tray. Had to return the pull handle type because absolutely could not get the ice out. Love this type above now!

Metal ice trays with the top and no lever
I got the ones that have a tray to cover and no lever. I like these! There’s no way it should be but finding a decent ice tray that doesn’t impart a chemical taste, shave bits of metal or plastic into your ice, or otherwise have an issue is frustratingly difficult. Trying to replace 30 year old ice trays that work sucks. But so far these seem good. The ice comes out relatively easily with warm water onto the tray that tops them. They then sort of stick and refreeze to that tray or start to melt if you leave them too long, but I dump them into a container. The ice cubes are pretty clear and a good size. And it goes into the dishwasher so I can use it to freeze smoothie cubes or iced coffee cubes. So far these are the best answer I’ve found. They stack nicely due to the trays. I bought 2 sets of 2 because there are only 6 cubes per tray.
