Works with the BIG ferrules (number 6 gauge wire)
Was needing a crimper which would crimp the big number 6 gauge wire ferrules. This work perfectly.

Ferrule crimping is now my standard method
I used to solder, twist, crimp spending so much time. Glad I found these and have been using them for home and work building solar setups and accessory wires. I have even found them sturdy enough to splice wires. I use a bit of heat shrink afterward giving them a pro look and feel.

It's durable but.....
The set screw to adjust the tension is easily lost if backed out too far, that's why I only gave 4 stars. Other than that, it was a great asset to my toolbox for the work I do. I "fixed" it with another screw though...

Does a good job.
Needed a crimper for larger ferrules and this seems to do a good job consistently.

Does not crimp enough for 24AWG
I bought these specifically because the square jaw works best, and these are advertised as AWG 30-5. Even at full adjustment, these do not crimp hard enough to keep the ferrule from sliding off. Works fine for larger wire, but I really needed it for 24 AWG. I do not recommend these if you are working with smaller guages.
