It just depends
I saw a few reviews saying the microphone doesn't fit their headset and my main advicee for that is to make sure you're picking the right microphone. I checked the size and shape of the audio jack to make sure I was getting the right one. I got mine for the playstation headset and it fit perfectly. I don't know about sound quality but my friends haven't mentioned a problem while gaming. It is basically the same as the original that came with the headset so I'm very happy with my purchase.

Replacement mic
I needed to replace the mic to my headset. Easy to attach and use. Great quality. Caught it on a sale so the price was great too.

You have to buy the right peice for the right headset, and that’s what I did but it didn’t fit and in the process, it snapped

Kept breaking.. (had to buy 3)
I've had to buy three of these, this microphone sounds AMAZING but holy ****, this piece of wire inside of the mic keeps breaking, and eventually your mic will just not work anymore. it's very cheap so the value for what your getting is good.
