These are light and ergonomically shaped for a toddlers hands. The plastic is quite thin but I guess that's what keeps them light. And despite that they don't feel poorly made.The height can't be adjusted it's one length but different colours so the child can pick which brush they want to use. Toddlers love options so this helps with that.You dont need to put anything together and these aren't magnetic as they are made of plastic.Brush and bristles at flexible and can take the pressure of a toddlers occasional heavy handedness.The brush has been stained a bit by some water colours but it doesn't affect the overall use.Picks up colour well and paints on paper nicely.Would recommend the product and brand to other parents.

Read most reviews before ordering. Several whinging about the quality of the timber, having to assemble it, no paint nor paper with it etc. etc. I decided to go with the more positive comments and ordered it and I am so glad that I did.It came well packed with all parts present and correct.The diagram and written instructions are clear and simple allowing me to have it ready for use in a couple of hours ( had a tea break and a few interruptions so 1.30 mns. nearer the mark ).The timber legs are smoothly sanded or planed and the other parts are of good solid quality.The pre order blurb makes it clear that paints, paper etc are NOT included. I ordered them in addition and they cover every possible use for the easel. ( see my review of the accessory set )Having dealt with most previous, negative comments let me now state a few additional pluses :The hight adjustment allows it to be comfortably used from little 3 year olds to great big 8 plus year olds.It is ready to receive any of the accessories you may wish to add.With a green board for chalk and a white board for drawing or attaching paper for painting it is very versatile.It is easy to fold for storing when not in use.It is of a sturdy construction and should last for at least the above age span.Perhaps most important of all ; it looks good and just begs to be used. So if my grandson turns out to be a Jack Vettriano or a Damien Hirst, then it all started here.First class product at a fare price.

As the title says this really is the best easel I've seen, especially for the price.It's slightly fiddly to put together but 1 person can do it alone in about 30 minutes ( I did it alone ) but two people would have it together in no time at all.When it's up it looks very impressive. The chalk and white board surfaces are very large so there is a lot of space for drawing/painting ect. I like how it can be used for many things. At the moment my son is only interested in the chalk side but in time he will be using the whiteboard and the paper roll to make more permanent art work :-)The added bonus with this easel compared to others I've seen is that it will grow with your child. I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old and have it on its lowest setting. As he grows the boards and trays can be put higher up. I can honestly say that I think he will be playing with this for many years to come :-)You only get the easel (no accessories) but that's been no problem. Paper rolls are pretty cheap at ELC and paint and chalks can be bought fairly inexpensively most places. I did consider getting the Melissa and doug accessory set but I decided against it as you don't seem to get much for the money. Instead I bought the m+d paint pots (I wanted them to fit the tray properly) and have bought other supplies elsewhere for a fraction of the cost.If you want an easel that is sturdy and will last for many years then this is the one to get!

I love this easel and have bought it for my other grandchildren before . It’s sturdy and the variable height options are helpful .My husband and I both felt that the instructions to make the item were not the best . It’s our second easel and we thought exactly the same last time . Parts / diagrams are not clear and it’s irritating that it takes two intelligent adults a considerable time to construct an easel.

nice quality item, great price

This was a gift for my 2yo nephew's bday (and I will definitely be buying another one for another 3yo nephew!). He was so excited when he unwrapped this gift and couldn't wait to "colour". The Easel took about half an hour to assemble but it looked impressive once set up (albeit a little high for a tall 2yo -although this is fine as it's designed ideally for 3+ and because it seems so durable, fingers crossed will last him for years). We also purchased the M&D accessories kit! It had everything needed, to get started using the M&D Easel straight away (except an apron -but we bought another one). The paints seem washable too so no need to panic if they paint themselves instead of the paper :-) I'm sure one can find these bits separately & cheaper elsewhere but this was fun, hassle-free and good quality/value for money. I do like Melissa & Doug toys!

Loved this toy and educational resource so much - bought twice as gifts for daughter and niece. They love it. It’s great value for money magnets, chalk, paper and a marker included. I had to order other whiteboard markers separate- because this only comes with one - I’m not deducting any stars simply because it’s great value for money as it comes with magnets, chalks and paper. It’s a wonderful toy and great Table Top design stores away easily. Only one piece of advice for young children who are learning to use pencils and pens - just put some tape over the wooden trim at the top - just so it doesn’t get marked - so you can keep it looking lovely - it’s such a beautiful design you will want to keep it and use for many years!
