Perfect product ... why didn't I find this sooner.
Perfect for keeping little ones out of rooms. Not wide enough for fire doors but other internal normal doors it's fine.

Clearly an inferior product compared with their previous quality
I got one of these a couple of years back to keep my cat outside of some rooms. It worked very well and succeeded where other solutions were outsmarted by my pet. I bought two this time but feel ripped off. The previous Door Monkey I had broke but that was due to my own error. I opened a door fast one day not realising it was placed there which snapped it. But while it worked it was rather good. These new ones serve the same purpose but it's like they've come from a cheaper manufacturer. Right after first using them they started to creak very audibly. While they do work the noise is very irritating. If I can I think I'll return them. I wouldn't advise buying these any longer.

Remove these and they fit fine around any door
To all that that say they wont fit the wider doors... they do (with a small amount of diy) The bit that goes around the door has two rubber interts that are there (i presume) to protec the door. Remove these and they fit fine around any door. It is a bit of a battle to get them off, but they do come off and the result is great. I have used these on all my doors (new build) and there is no damage scuffing or marks to any of the doors. I would suggest trying one and then you will see... Just ordered a couple more as they are excellent to allow the older children into (the living room for example) but my 1 year old still cannot reach so he is confined to the 'safer' areas of the house. Cant recomend these enough.

Doesn't fit my door.
You must be able to measure 8 cm from the external frame to the internal lip for this to work. As you can see from my door I have about 9 cm due to the extra molding around the door. I was able to nail a piece of wood to the door to make this work, but its not great and makes it harder to release the latch. This product is twice as expensive as it should be for having such a simple design. If the latch was extendable the price would be justified and I wouldn't have to rig my door to make it work.

Happy with what it does, although won't fit all doors
This just about fits the width of our door. It is well worth checking if your doors will be too wide. But if not and it does fit, this is a great little tool that means we can keep our little ones from entering certain rooms without having the door shut, which has been nice with hot weather and windows open to let the air circulate.

No installation needed
Brilliant. Expensive but no installation needed which works well in a rented house. Can b moved quickly to other doors as needed.I use it to keep my senior cat in different spaces as needed. It leaves a gap that is just small enough for her to not squeeze through. I use mine on the top of my door so that my clothes don't get hooked up on it as I pass through, when the door is open. I can also move it closer to the hinges end of the door if I wanted a bigger gap for my cat to pass through but not anything bigger (child or dog)
