Best Group Boardgame Ever!
I’m telling you right now, this is the single Best boardgame for groups ever. Deception is at its peak and the designers created a masterpiece that keeps the entire group fully invested from start to finish. Our Get To The Chopper moments have created some of the most thrilling, fun, and energetic moments. Games of only Four people are going to struggle for human victory, I’m not sure it’s even possible. Best games so far have been six players. The rules seem complicated but just start a play through with the instructions in hand and you’ll be set. Instructions are easy to understand and example illustrations make it even easier aside to get through first game. We were locked solid in gameplay after two play throughs. I can’t give this one enough stars. Great game, expensive, but totally worth every penny.

Fantastic cooperative game that captures intensity and trust issues of the movie.
We are VERY big fans of this movie. This game is a cooperative game (mostly), where most people start off as humans, but a couple get infected into being on the aliens' team. The game captures the "who can you trust" aspect of the film so very well. I can't tell you with words what that experience is like... 1 or 2 of the people in the room are lying aliens, and you look around at their faces, the accusations fly, etc. That deep feeling in your gut of not knowing really happens at the climactic endings of this game.It took us about 2-3 games before we got the hang of it, figured out how to utilize our characters' abilities correctly, etc. So, at first, we were making mistakes about how the game mechanics worked, and the aliens won all the time. Now that we know what we're doing, the humans/aliens are winning about 50/50. So the game seems well balanced. The board looks great. The pieces look great. The cards look great. Very high quality. Very good artwork. If you like this movie, you will like this game. If you haven't seen the movie, this game will make you want to go see it.Extremely well done game.

YES, BUY IT. TRUST ME, I'M (NOT) AN IMITATION!... Yet
It did meet my expectations and more. Played it a few times without even knowing a couple of mechanics and oh boy, when we rrad those, it only got better. Super difficult, very fun, set up takes 5min or less, if talking while setting it up, takes about 10min. Game wise can actually potentially take 15min but it always takes at least the minimum hour. 8 player games have lasted about 2 hours with talking and joking and discussing the current gameplay. I absolutely recommend this game to anyone who likes DnD, betrayer games, or just difficult games in the slightest. It is VERY faithful to the movie The Thing. If you know the movie you will most likely get excited while playing because of certain situations. This game deserves the 5 Stars for a reason, it is quite literally one of the best boardgames I've ever played.

For Serious Board Game Players
This game isn't necessarily worth the price but is great for a movie / game night combo. Watch the movie 1982 movie of the same name with a group of friends, grab some drinks, and play it out for yourselves. We bought it because some friends really wanted to play & we have played it again with them several times since but it's not so much for the casual gamer. The rules, rounds, and details are somewhat intricate & you'll want to have 1 person who is very familiar with it to lead the game play. If you regularly play very involved tabletop games then you'll be fine, but I would still recommend seeing the movie first.

This is one of the best board games I have played
This is one of the best board games I have played, and it became instantly one of my all time favorite. If you love co-op strategy deception games and sci-fi, you will love this game. The rules might seem a little overwhelming at the beginning, but it is not too complicated to play. You will have a good time if you like these kind of games.Update:Forgot to mention; if you buy this, try to play with at least 6 people. Games with 4 players only are almost impossible for the humans to win. Games with 5 players are really difficult but not impossible. 6 or more is a good number for a good challenge on both sides.

My Game Group Approves!
Like others mention here, the more players the better! My friends and I have had so much fun with this game. Almost immediately the accusations fly and every move is looked at with suspicion. In my play-throughs the Things seem to win a lot, but that just adds to the fun of being human, of sizing your fellow players up, trying to draw the thing out into the open. It’s devilishly fun the be a Thing, too, slipping that sabotage card in at just the right time and trying not to laugh... the game suits the theme very well!
