Excellent!
This book was excellent! It hit all the "buttons" for me. It was well-written, fun, an enjoyable mystery, and I loved the characters and world that was built. I will absolutely be continuing this series!

Charming Start with Room to Grow
Accidental Magic: A Whimsical Witchy Midlife Mystery (Myrtlewood Mysteries Book 1) is an enjoyable, light paranormal read that feels a bit like a cozy Hallmark movie with a magical twist. While the pacing and tone can be a bit uneven at times, there’s enough charm and intrigue to make me want to continue with the series. The setting is inviting, the mystery is fun, and most of the characters are quite likable—except for Rosemary. She often comes across as immature, constantly complaining, and more irritating than endearing. I’m hoping her character develops in future installments, because as she stands now, she’s the one element that could keep me from finishing the series.Still, the book has its strengths and a promising world to explore, and I’m curious to see where the story goes next.

Outstanding
So much fun to read. Mother and daughter facing all kinds of challenges. It was cute the way they each would argue one moment about something and then laugh it off. The intrigue of finding they have magic powers is entertaining.. The people in Myrtlewood are not all what they seem.

A set-up book
Oh! First, Rosemary yells too much! I am an exclamation point sort of girl. But, every time Rosemary reacted to something Athena suggested came out as an affront. It was tedious. I hope the subsequent books delve more deeply into the characters personalities.

Solid 4 stars
Its weird for me as an American to read a book written by a British author. I enjoyed the differences in the things we say or what we call things. Some things I had to look up because I had never heard of it before.I had my suspicions on who the killer was but you are introduced to so many possibilities throughout that you try hard to figure it out. Had I had the chance to crawl into my reading nook I could've finished this book in a few hours. Alas motherhood calls so it took me a few days to finish. My only complaint would be that every now and again Rosemary just irked me to no end. I wanted her to grow up and stop throwing tantrums but as with all books characters grow as the book progresses.

a new home
I’ve enjoyed my first visit to Myrtlewood. Wondering what powers they will get and when. Will there be romance and who killed granny?

Buy this book and if you're like me, you'll want the rest!
I started reading this series with Kindle Unlimited. Now I need to go back and own all these books to be able to reread them again and again. I'm a crone, and wonderful books and a good cuppa keep me happy in my quiet moving cottage fullnof books, tea, love, light, and magic. Why not join me?This entire series is simply wonderful in every way that matters most. If you love a tale well told, witches, Fae folk, adventure, intriguing plots and characters, and stories that will keep you guessing? Break away from serialized, pedantic, and predictable for a breathtaking romp full of wonderful, richly developed characters and plots. The world building and character development here is some of the best I've come across. A great story well told that hasn't gotten old in the many books in the series.
