This is my third OBD reader from Kingbolen. My others have been the CRP series and I found those to be quality tools. I was looking for something more portable that I can just keep in my glove box. I found the eDiag to be a good addition for diagnostics on the road. I used it successfully on my 2016 Range Rover TD6. It cleared some old codes and I went ahead and used it to bleed my ABS. In the past I used an AUTEL for that job but this little gizmo did just fine. For that job, I paired it with my iPhone mini13 with no issues. For my Lexus GX460, the application was a little buggy with my mini13 but when I used my iPhone 14, I had no issues. I did reach out to Kingbolen and they bent over backwards to find a solution. As it is, the mini13 is a troublesome phone so there’s the culprit. Overall, very happy. I do realize Kingbolen charges for an annual subscription if you want to keep the most up-to-date. I think it’s $49. Seems a wee steep to me and I’m not actually sure an update is needed unless I am adding a newer vehicle to garage. Anyway, not a deal killer for me. Happy purchaser.

Behind the façade of this software's amazing features lies nothing but deception. Thanks to this marvelous tool, I ended up paying an official dealer $400 to recalibrate the front sensor on my 2019 Ford Fusion. These folks proudly offer a feature called ‘adaptive cruise control calibration,’ but fail to mention that their scanner doesn’t actually perform the calibration—it just resets the settings. After that, you’re expected to drive at a certain speed for an hour, or maybe ten, to get things sorted.Bottom line, don’t even bother with this. I’ve got three cars from different manufacturers, and not a single one has benefited from this so-called miracle device. I always ended up going back to the dealer.And the cherry on top? If you think your device will keep working after your one-year license expires, think again. Not only will you stop getting updates, as advertised, but you also won’t even be able to use their software. My advice—buy something from the Chinese market. It’ll be cheaper and better. Total scam.

I used this tool to pull trouble codes from my 03 Toyota Matrix and 07 Nissan Altima. There are a lot of functions on this tool. I like how it scans for the VIN when you connect to the vehicle. I connected this to my 01 F150 and it was able to pull the VIN code from it also. There are also a lot of live data features. I was impressed as to how many sensors, controls, and switches I was able to test on the 01 F150. I also found an error code with the 4wd that my other inexpensive diagnostic tool didn't pick up. It took me a little while to learn some of the advanced features. I'm looking forward to testing out more of it's features. This is a great bidirectional automotive diagnostic tool. There are less expensive readers out there that you can get for pulling codes and resetting the computer. This tool does that and more.

Easy to use. Out of the box you download the ediag app and register. Download as many manufacturers as you need and pair Bluetooth. The whole process took 3 minutes total. After that you gain access to a bunch of special functions like brake bleed. Parking brake reset ,throttle reset, sunroof. Note my pictures were from before I downloaded the software. Also I found that you are not locked to just one vehicle. It scanned the vin code quickly and accurately on every vehicle I've tried. I was surprised by the graphing on live data. For the price this is a amazing tool that I will be using daily at work and on side work. Compact and portable so I do not need to carry around my full size scan tool. I found the iOS and android app both worked flawlessly. After a vehicle scan or health report you can still go back and retrieve the data in reports. Overall I am extremely pleased with kingbolen ediag and would recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a scan tool for diy or a shop to use with their phone or tablet.

It's really a great tool but why pay the subscription cost if the Ediag Elite offers the same functionality with a lifetime no subscription model? I really wish I knew the difference between the 2 and for that reason I would not recommend this tool.
