Magical read
The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi is the first book in the Amina al-Sirafi series and is based on the voyage of a pirate to find a very important treasure. The story follows a retired pirate, Amina who has been on many quests and was betrayed many times now lives happily with her daughter. But out of nowhere, a wealthy woman tracks her down and asks her to help her find her granddaughter from an enemy. She resists but when the lady offers her huge amount of money, she agrees to find her. With full determination, she makes a plan and contacts her old crew members. All of them agree and start their adventure step by step.Their adventure was gripping and full of excitement. I felt like I was watching everything taking place in front of me. I couldn’t put the book down right from the start as it was super engaging. The magical elements added to the story were delightful.Furthermore, the world-building was fantastic, just loved it. The characters were well-developed as well and loved the diversity of characters. Amina being my favourite character didn’t disappoint me at all. Dalia on the other hand was an amazing character, her way of charming 🤌🏻.I’m super anxious to read the next book in the series ava find out what happens next.

Thriller and adventurous read
This book is an exciting tale that follows the adventures of Amina al Sirafi, a courageous woman. Set in a vibrant and mystical world, the story was a thrilling journey for me to read as it was filled with magic, mystery, and discovery. This was my first time reading a pirate kinda fantasy book and was amazing to read as Amina encountered several mythical creatures, dangerous obstacles, and forms unexpected alliances. The book beautifully weaves together elements of fantasy, adventure, and Middle Eastern folklore, creating a rich and immersive reading experience. If you love reading fantasy filled with secrets , creatures, a strong female character and pirates, then you will definitely love this book! I’m excited to start authors’s other book, the city of brass as it’s already on my tbr.

Extraordinary tale of a brave women!
⚓️ Why do men are always claimed to be adventurous? Why are adventurous women not spoken of? Say we read a story of warrior Princess, she often ends up with a prince. But here comes our heroic, venturesome, strong minded Amina Al- Sirafi, who breaks all the stereotypes being a women in her forties and a mother too! After facing several trails being a pirate with a heavy price on her head, she decides to lead a normal life with her family away from Aden. But destiny urges her to take up one last quest that brings a lifelong fortune to her family. Let's unravel Amina's story!⚓️ An interesting plot with detailed description of the surroundings and characters. The story is quite slow paced. You can find a motherly love of Amina with her daughter Marjana, courageous will power, a true loyal leader and a credulous women. Adventure, humour, fantasy, unexpected twists, friendship, betrayal and supernatural elements build the tale. I find Dalila's character, quite suspicious yet a humourous and interesting one.⚓️ Something I personally admire about the book is the Islamic reps along with the mention of correct ruling of Islam and they had also specified that they do not follow some, thus avoiding the misconception to non muslim readers. There is an artistic map at the start and glossary at the end. The glossary could be added with few more words as we can find some unused ones. If you are a fan of author's previous work 'City of Brass'/ Daevabad Triology, then you will literally love the story of Amina.

Adventure
"The moon shone brightly upon the ruined fort across the lagoon, its crumbling bricks all that remained of a long-abandoned city locals said had once been a hustling trading ports. " - Lines from the Book. They say never judge a book by its cover but this book is an exception of it as it is not only beautiful from the outside but the content of the book also blow the mind of the readers. This is the story of Amina al-Sirafi who was a well-known pirate captain but she has retired from her this life and devoted her life to her daughter but life has different plans for her as Salima wants her for some work, thinking that a new task at her last adventure our protagonist is ready with her crew to face all the hurdles and to fight with Falco and to return the daughter of the Salima to her. What I like in this book -. Obviously the beautiful cover.. The author did justice with all the characters of the story even one gonna enjoy the antagonist too as the author has portrayed it so well.. This book is a blend of so many things such as mythology, fantasy, thriller, history and so on so it's a complete package in the form of a single book.. While reading this book one can feel varied emotions such as betrayal, love etc.. It will enrich your vocabulary.Suggestion -If you are not an ardent reader then it might be difficult for you to understand the book easily but keep reading it and slowly and gradually you will understand it.. This book consists of 483 pages but trust me after you finish it you will not regret it.

Great Adventure!
I truly enjoyed this book. I loved all the characters and their banter. Having the main character be an older age was refreshing. The mix of magic, culture, and history was also wonderful. I can’t wait to read more from this world and these characters.

Loved it!
Was awesome to have a relatably aged main character who is also a bad-arsed. I find it hard to find stories like this that are adult oriented with strong female protagonists.Enjoyed the story and all characters a lot and can't wait for the next one!

Fantastic Nautical Adventure
As an Arab who fell in love with the sea at an early age, this book was particularly poignant for me. I can’t say I ever particularly wanted to run away and be a pirate, but I have definitely day dreamed about sailing away and going on adventures like Sindibad - or like Amina Al Sirafi. It’s always a rare thing to come across a book that uses “Eastern” mythology and history in such an authentic way whilst also spinning a captivating story. Chakraborty has managed it beautifully.I’m very much looking forward to seeing what comes next in the series.
