Money well spent
Bought another brand and was very disappointed in it. Bought the Braun and it is exceptional. Smooth, gets all the difficult places with ease. Battery life lasts long time, I feel it’s a great value for the money!

Smooth
Got this from my husband, his other one wore out. The cartridge from his other one works just fine in this one so that’s good. We didn’t lose the cleaning cartridges. We got to keep using them. He must like it. He uses it every day. I don’t hear no complaints so I think it’s worth the money

Great multi function razor
Great razor with multiple options. Easy clean and keeps charge for a long time. Best razor I’ve ever owned.

Yikes! What happened?
I love Braun, been buying them for years over my lifetime. About 7 years ago (2016), I bought the Series 5 and though I thought the quality was somewhat diminished over its predecessor, I bought a second one for travel which I did a lot of at the time. Every year or two, I bought the replacement foil and blade for each, even though it was expensive. Then I started jonesing for a new one about a year ago with a longer battery life and better charge indicator, so I bought the Series 6 (2023). Well, the new one just doesn’t shave as well as their older model…end stop. It doesn’t handle three-day growth as well, edging along my beard as well, nor shaving the chaos over my neck. To be fair, my expectation is based on comparison, but they are not comparable because their design is completely different. The older S5 was built with the foil and blade as two separate pieces whereas this new S6 is designed with an integrated foil and blade as one single replaceable part. Whether this makes things cheaper or just easier for the customer to clean and replace it, I cannot say, but the effect in providing me a good shave is night and day. And something else, the distance from the head to the start of the foil between the two generations is huge, making edging along my beard line with the new shaver ineffective for me. I’m glad a bought two S5 shavers back in the day as they are still my go-to shavers. This one goes in the gym bag.UPDATE: 2024-12-15It lasted about a year. This S6 model is one of Braun’s cheaper models and in believing the good reviews, I took a chance and bought-down… so my bad. But even so, the charge capacity diminished very rapidly over a short time. The attachable trimmer turned out to be a big compromise in efficiency for me (tedious and hard to find when needed). And the 3-step battery charge indicator was really bad. It went from 3 to 2 after only one shave after a full charge and then went from 2 to dead maybe 6 shaves later, providing no meaningful warning for use during travel. I used it for the gym for about a year until it wouldn’t hold a charge for more than 3 daily shaves and now it’s over-and-out before wearing out its first foil. I really expected more from Braun, even with this cheaper model. I give it 3 stars only because I bought-down on purpose, and that’s on me.

No more Braun products for me.
I've used Braun products for almost 20 years. My current razor is a 19-year-old Braun 7680. The battery is dying so I replaced it with this. It still gives a closer shave than the new unit. You'd think after 20 years there would be some improvement or it would work as well as an old product. I’m also upset that there is no email address available for Braun or parent company Procter & Gamble to send a complaint. Here’s pretty much what I wanted to send them in an email:This may be my last Braun product partly due to the abysmal user manual. It's in three languages yet the majority of the 'instructions' are in hieroglyphics!I spent nearly an hour in three chat sessions to figure things out. Evidently these manuals are unintelligible to support staff as well as customers. A simple sentence in writing would have answered these questions that are NOT answered by their little pictures:* How long should I keep the razor plugged in before its first use? Your support person told me overnight but on a later chat said that as soon as I saw 4 lights on the razor it would be done, even though that was after just one hour. When I told him it had 3 lights lit, he told me that meant it was 3/4 charged and to wait for the fourth light. I went to check and the razor only has THREE lights!* He told me the light on the charging unit would go from flashing red to being blue when fully charged. So I had to contact him again when, after about an hour, the light was NOT red, NOT blue and NOT even on. Completely dark. He never did tell me what that means.* What do bubbles with the 'no' symbol over them mean? He told me something so involved I couldn't even remember it.I don't know if they think they're saving money buy not hiring writers for their user information, but writers get paid for a reason - they can communicate succinctly. Unlike your pictures which neither this user nor your support staff could interpret. This plus not working as well as a 19-year-old razor, is the end of the line for me and Braun.
