A few months old, and firing on all cylinders... Our gamble paid off...
Printers are a tough investment, but this one has been an unfaltering addition to my school work for months. It sits on an elevated rolling laptop stand, my MacBook on top of that (separated by a piece of non-slip drawer/cabinet liner that prevents scrapes and sliding), and it's as sturdy as a rock.A couple of things to note upfront:It's louder than anticipated. You'll hear it from the living room during wireless printing, which is noticeable at first, but you adjust. It's not the speediest. It's perfectly fine for my personal and family printing needs (a few pages to a dozen or two for study material or odd jobs). For photo output, it's sharp but not "masterclass"—definitely better photo printers exist. However, for black and white or grayscale, it delivers. Color printing is also sharp and doesn't bleed, with reasonable (though not lightning-fast) speed. If outright speed is your priority, look elsewhere.### Wireless ConnectivityI use a Mac, a Pi 5, and Windows 11 Pro with WSL2. They all connect perfectly with zero issues on my home network. It even seamlessly switched from my old ASUS Wifi 6 router to our new Amazon Eero system. I can print from anywhere on the network, even from my Pi across SSH. This printer delivers wonderfully on the wireless front.### InkIt claimed 2 years of ink, and so far, it's mostly full. I print a fair amount, mostly in grayscale or black, but color charts for networking are sharp and readable. The kids and wife hit this thing all day, and it never gives them issues—something I've never been able to say about a wireless printer before. While I'm not typically an HP fan, this device has been a rockstar from Day 1.### Setup & DurabilityLoading the ink and setting it up was fast, easy, and uneventful. My hardest job was walking to the trash can to dispose of the funky adapter from the print heads! I've had zero dried ink or printhead issues; it calibrated perfectly the first time and prints everything with precision. Its wireless connectivity, durability, ease of setup and use, and minimal vibrations are all well-balanced, providing a full, uneventful printer that does exactly what it's supposed to, when it's supposed to. This holds true across multiple operating systems and even after switching networks. My wife thought the cost was worth the gamble compared to other alternatives, and she was right. Zero issues with this printer. If this review remains unedited, know that I'm still having a completely happy, issue-free experience. I would absolutely buy another if needed for a college dorm or similar.

Great for my office at home
I wanted something that would last with ink and not worry about the tanks drying out. I probably only print once a week and seriously have had zero issues. Little slow at printing but the quality for the buck isnt an issue for me.

Avoid this HP Printer – Absolute Waste of Money and Time!
I am beyond frustrated with the HP Smart Tank 5000 (model 5D1B6A). From the moment I unboxed this so-called printer, it’s been nothing but a headache, all because of a defective black printhead.HP’s customer support has been useless. They’ve given me the runaround with the same old advice: turn it off and on again, or yank out the printhead and reinstall, useless suggestions that did absolutely nothing to solve the problem.Frustrated to the point of desperation, I decided to put out an extra $60 for a new printhead, only to find that getting one for this specific model is like searching for a needle in a haystack.HP’s website? No luck. Amazon? Nothing. Now to add to the frustration I have to pack this thing up, with ink wells full and hope it doesn’t leak through the box before I drop it off at the UPS store to return it.This has been a colossal waste of time, money, and patience. A brand-new printer shouldn’t come with such basic, flaws, and the lack of available parts is just the cherry on top of this disaster.I would not recommend the HP Smart Tank 5000 to anyone, but if this stops one person from making the same mistake and avoid this frustration, I can sleep a little better at night.

A great mega tank all in one ink jet printer for the price.
This is a really great printer for the price. All the inks that you get and it’s an all-in-one printer. The pictures that it produces are wonderful and very vibrant. It scans very well for documents and photos. I use it for a variety of things as I am a graphic designer. I also have a black-and-white laser printer for regular documents so it’s not to have to tie up my color printer for tedious long documents. Print quality is great and the price is ideal. I highly recommend. As far as the four stars reading, I never give five stars unless it comes with a free sandwich.

A must have for teachers.
Easy set up. I print alot of lesson plans and activities. With what I've printed in the past month I would be on my second set of ink cartridges by now. My ink levels barely moved. This is a must have for anyone that prints alot. For what I was paying in ink cartridges this will pay itself off in a few months.

Not all easy peasy
If you're not running Windows 10 or 11 you may be in for an interesting ride... HP's website includes Windows 7 SP1 as able to run the Super Tank software. However my first effort to get some issues resolved resulted in a stonewall refusal to accept what the website said. I was told the only way to get the printer to work would be to switch my operating system to Windows 10 or 11 which I refuse to do. The next day I connected with other support personnel who were able to get my issues resolved for a fee.
