*UPDATE*This pinpointer had grown on me. It's honestly not terrible, and for $20 at my time of purchase, i would even say it's decent. I was going to return it but needed something to use while waiting for my XP MI-4 to ship. So I used it and it was very functional, although kinda slow as i described in my initial review. But it did it's job and I'm grateful; not having a pinpointer is a nightmare for a newbie like me. Decided to keep it as a backup or to lend to a friend. No way I'd lend out my XP.If this was the only pinpointer you could afford or didn't care about having a nice responsive one with more features, this thing works. Better and smaller package than the $36 SUNPOW pointer. Now THAT thing was a huge piece of trash.Some additonal observations:-The battery life is not great. Maybe because it comes with a low quality battery in the box? Maybe because i used it on the vibrate function? Anyways, i got 4 or 5 hunts out of it. If it was my main pointer, I would get a Lithium rechargeable 9v 2-pack and switch one out while charging the other.-The light is basically useless, very dim. hardly lights up the hole even when it's dark.-The screen is a cool feature, but it is hard to see from anything but a head on angle and forget about it at all if the sun is bright. Scratches kinda easily. That being said it has 3 modes and no memory so you basically don't need it anyways.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Honestly it works but it has lag. You have to pinpoint slowly because of the delay or you'll spend forever looking for your target. Better than NO pinpointer, but still. The whole idea is that this tool makes finding your target faster. It kinda does, kinda. But its frustrating.Sensitivity and sound volume cant be adjusted. But you can cycle 3 modes in the order it turns on (no last mode memory after turn of/turn on): Sound but no light no vibrate, vibrate and light only, vibrate and sound and light.Weird that sound only doesn't have the light but the two other modes do.It's only $20 though, so I ordered it thinking what the hell. Tried my friends unit before mine came and came to this conclusion: Just buy a good pinpointer if you metal detect even semi-regularly! I ended up not even opening mine when it came and will be returning it. Bought a XP MI-4 instead.

A+ works great

It has a delay when alerting near target. FlashLight does not have an option to remain off when you're in a certain mode. It drains batteries at a ridiculous rate. Plus it super loud.The outer design seems to be made well, just has a few inner flaws that are mentioned previously.You get what you pay for.Would I buy again? -NO-

I got this for my husband after he got his metal detector for Christmas! Big win! And lots of brownie points for me. He is very pleased with the accuracy of the pin point and the quality of the product. He definitely brags about what his wife got him for Christmas. I am his best “treasure” thusfar!

Do not buy this pinpointer it's junk it doesn't accurately pinpoint the item it's constantly falsing you don't know when it's on or off buyer beware,,,,
