Chest Freezer Super-low temperature Freezers 14℉ to -40℉ (Black, 3.5 Cubic Feet), (UlTRA)

I haven't had this freezer long enough to tell if it is reliable. I did, however, test it with a calibrated thermometer, and it can maintain temperatures below -40* F. The way its temperature controller works is a bit odd: the temperature display on the freezer actually reads 6 degrees warmer than the actual internal temperature. The compressor turns on when the display temperature reaches 5 degrees below the setpoint and turns off when it reaches the setpoint. So, if you set it to -40* F, the display will cycle between -35* F and -40* F, but the actual temperature will cycle between -41* F and -46* F. This ensures that the freexer always stays colder than the setpoint.The next-cheapest freezer om the market that gets this cold cost $1600, so this is an incredible value.

It's been a few months. This freezer is still running strong. Pleasantly surprised with the performance for the price, it's hard to find anything else that will actually cool to -40 in this price range.Great product!

It’s working well after two days and consumes about 76 watts on average, 90-105 watts when on which is about 80% of the time. Only negative is the expansion valve causes a quite noticeable breathing sound of 42 db on the db app.I recommend buying insurance, their warranty is on page 10 which happens to be a blank page.

This freezer actually hits -40 deg F. In fact, it went down to -44 deg C (-47F), as measured with my Fluke multimeter thermocouple while operating. Indoor air temperature was 63 deg F. This freezer is a very affordable cold temperature test chamber. Will update the review after the freezer has been running for a while.Update: The freezer has been running since May 7, 2024 at -20 deg F. It is now December 2024, and everything is alright. Seems reliable enough.

Does NOT work. Won’t cool below 40 degrees, supposed to get as low as -40.
