It works - brilliant
I was a little skeptic this cost effective solution would work. Tested it out before we went away for 3 weeks and seemed OK. Walked back into the house yesterday and ALL the plants were happy, watered and green. Bearing in mind the heat the UK had over the past few weeks was delighted. Put all the 6 large house plants including ferns and bonsai on the kitchen floor, a huge bucket with the rope in just off the floor and all good. Delighted, great product.

Plant saver
I have a confession... I'm a serial plant killer!Since buying this string, my tomato plant has been spared a painful death and is happily drinking water as needed. It's also really handy for going away and keeping your plants watered. Very useful and plenty of string for the money

need to practice more with this one but does work
I tried three different watering methods for a 2-week holiday away. This one definitely works but the size and height of the reservoir of water and the nature of the plant pot need a lot of practice. It sucks up the water more quickly than other methods. I think works better for a shorter trip. Will use it though with plants that are difficult to water normally as it did seem to suit some of them very well.

Very tricky to use well
I ordered the 30mm and the 50mm, and tried them out before going away. I'm glad I did because both of them just transferred the entire contents of the container into the plant tray until it overflowed and went on the floor. They are too effective and transfer the water too quickly. I can't see how they could ever work since they just transfer all the water quickly (too much), and then afterwards the plants will not have any water.I did try to use them anyway when I went on holiday for 8 days. When I returned the plants were dead, because presumably all the water was transferred in about 12 hours, overflowed, and then evaporated.

It works!!
I bought these to water my flower pots for two weeks summer holidays. At first I was skeptical but I done a experimental run couple of days before leaving, I was surprised that it actually works. I setup it up before leaving for holidays and after two weeks at my return I find my flower pot healthy and blooming.Definitely recommend!!

Something that actually works
Bought this as if it didn't work it wasn't going to break the bank. Surprisingly it works really well. At the moment I have quite a few tomato plants in buckets, and a lot of smaller ones in smaller pots, plus various other veggies in smaller pots. I filled a 40L trug with water and placed 7 of my buckets around it above the height of the buckets and followed the instructions. Good idea to tie weights (nuts, bolts etc) to the end of the wick going in the water so it sinks to the bottom. Then wet the wick, shove it in the plantpot and leave. I did the same with my other plants. As someone else said, it's a bit of trial and error. I found that 6mm was too thick for the smaller plants and the water was leaking out into the trays they were sat in but perfect for the plants in buckets. I have just ordered some more but in a 4mm diameter for the smaller plants. The good thing is that not only does it work to water my plants if I go away, but means that I don't have to water my plants every morning individually. I can just fill up the container every 3 or 4 days and leave them to water themselves.
