Q: What’s maximum level of raid? 1?

Raid is controlled by the host computer not onboard the device. You can use any type of RAID supported by the raid software you are using and number of disks you have in the enclosure. I think OWC include a basic SoftRAID license, though on Mac you can also use native apple RAID. N.B. Each SSD slot only seems to run at PCIE3x1 speed so if you only use it with one or two NVME drives it won’t reach expected speeds. Fully populated with 4 in raid it will be close to saturating the Thunderbolt bus.

Q: Fan noise ? Is this noisy I have no fan at all in my studio set up , Will I hear it if it's in the desk next to a screen

It's definitely a bit noisy, but after a bit of research, I found you can swap out the fan and get a cable pack that will slow down the fan speed - it's a 5 minute job with 1 screwdriver. I'm running 4 x 8TB and copying/editing huge video files with no problems. I've also tested all the competition and this is the best by far and also have a handy Thunderbolt throughput. The sound level is a now a pleasant quiet hum. Important, I would highly recommend a small APC to give yourself a few minutes to save and unmount, as NVME Raids really don't like power cuts. Q: Hi, it says here the max total storage is 8tb. but on owc's website states that 32tb is the max. other sites state 16tb. so what is the correct total?

I've got 4x 8TB NVMe running RAID 0, giving me a maximum storage of 32GB, however, note you should be backing this up constantly if you're not using RAID 4/5. I'm using Dropbox with unlimited storage. Also no need for the very fastest NVMe SSD, as the Thunderbolt connection and speed per channel/bus is the Bottleneck. I'm getting 1600 MB/S Write and 2250 MB/S Read, which is fast enough for everything I throw at it, but this isn't close to what each of the SSDs are capable of.
