The set comes with everything listed. There are instructions on how to make the painting. I think a video would have been a nice addition; after all Bob Ross is most known for his show. Makes a good gift for someone into painting.

I thought this was a great beginner's kit. You'll need to purchase your own canvas and a bottle of mineral spirits to clean the brush. I used two episodes to learn how to make this picture: Grey Mountain from Season 24, Episode 1 (matches the colors), and The Grandeur of Summer (one-hour special, goes at a slower pace). While those two shows weren't a direct match for the kit, they were close enough where I felt like I was really understanding the technique.I used paper bags to cover my work surface, lots of towels, and was able to clean up what got on my skin with soap and water. I did not realize it was going to take weeks for this painting to dry, however, so make sure you have somewhere you can stash your new work of art.

It was exactly what I expected

There was no plastic carry case and can't even use the box to keep the items together because the liquid white bottle has a hole in the bottom and the box has paint in it. Ruined my clothes so be careful when you open it. Also there is no need for a DVD player as stated in the description because there is no DVD included in the set. I would still be happy with it if the case was included and my clothes weren't ruined.

Daughter (9y/o) and husband (32y/o) are learning to oil paint together and love Bob Ross videos. Nice beginers set, should have included midnight black but maybe they didnt need it for this painting? Turned out nice for their first try!
