I purchased these lights to add a bit of light in a dark area and also to add some ambiance. They are cute and modern looking (all plastics ). The only issue I had on installation was drilling through a composite decking wall. I placed two lights at exactly 18 “ from the floor of the deck and this seems to work well for me. Much higher than this and I don’t think there’s enough light to project I don’t think they are bright enough if you wish to use for safety on steps though. They cast a soft light. It’s white but not too bright. For installation I suggest you simply hold the light and mark your spots f for the anchoring screw. If you happen to get that measurement wrong you’ll have to drill another hole because the back slides on at two points left and right. Given how you mount them you’re going to slide them till they catch so make sure you measure carefully or they may not align flat and look too droopy. I have mine positioned in the on position so I cannot comment on motion detection

Purchased 15 of these for a recent fence project. 2 simple screws provide mounting to my fence posts. Spaced about 20' apart provides sufficient light along the perimeter of the fence to illuminate the back yard.Purchased 10 more to complete the project. The top of the fixture will start to turn a milky-yellow from the UV rays but does not seem to affect the performance of the solar panels. Its been 2 years since the install here in the Midwest and have not needed to replace the batteries.

The lights that did come on worked fine! I just had a couple that just never charged never work at all but the ones that do work are great

These lights are awesome! Most of the reviews here are for different lights so they should fix this. There is so much dishonesty on these reviews now which make me hesitant to buy sometimes. They could be using these old reviews for another product to make their product appear more favorable. Well, with regards to this product with the nice sleek look to the front wrap like a brushed polished nickel and solar panel top, this was a cinch product. The instructions were easy to follow, they came durably packaged, and they look aesthetically pleasing. The color of the light wasn't an annoying bright white and rather a warm yellow which I like. All of the lights around my home are warm white so they match up well.

Living in south Florida, I needed weatherproof lights that could be powered by the blazing sun and still withstand the rain, heat and humidity. I bought these Home Zone Security Solar Wall Lights - Outdoor Solar Fence Post and Step Lights due to their competitive price point and elegant design compared to the many cheaper looking black plastic types that are on the market. I mounted them on my wooden fence on the side of my house leading to the backyard. The paper template included to mark where to drill the holes was cheap and barely served its purpose. After mounting two of the lights, I had to mark the holes/distance on a thicker piece of cardboard to complete the job. These lights did look really nice and I was anxious for it to get dark so I could see them lit up. I was immediately disappointed with the low level of illumination. Four feet up on the fence and the light didn't reach the ground. The lights barely worked OK for a couple of weeks before several of them started getting weaker and weaker by the day. Within a month, they were only bright enough to identify where the fence was from five feet away. By the third month, none of them would light up at all but the chrome still looks nice, shiny and decorative during the day. I've since purchased several sets of the black plastic types hoping for better results. This was a waste of money and my time in mounting them. Not recommended.

That’s it really. They look much better than the big black plastic ones with the stake and the giant solar panel on top that you find at every store in the spring... but they’re less than half as bright. They also only on stay on for 4 hours after 2 days of full sun. Was going to buy all 16, now I’m glad I just got the 4 pack. The second star is for looks during the day, they look small and clean. But the light is about as bright as your average keychain light. Installing is a pain too, why two screws? One on top center would make these much easier to install. Now you have to measure and level. More work, less results.
