Sturdy lock and does the job for a shed but really could do with a striker plate
Easy to fit and works well. I was surprised that there was no striker plate that you see on internal door frames to allow the automatic latching. With this one you basically get a small box for the latch to fit into which means you have to operate the handle to get it to latch. Basic security but suitable for a shed with no high value items inside.

Shockingly poor product from Yale
Bought to replace the brass version of the product which was installed a few years ago which was a really poor lock but to my amazement they've actually made the product even worse since that one was fitted. Th internal mechanism is made from the thinnest cheapest steel they could get away with, there is no differentiation between locks i.e. every key for every one of these will open every one of the locks, the position of the latch and bolt mechanism is different to "standard" so neither engage properly into the keep in the door frame and finally even the dimensions of the internals are so poorly designed and executed that the lock will fail far earlier than it should. It's hard to imagine a worse example of a lock, the only problem is it seems to be almost the only lock available in this size!

not brass - its black
I think I should point out that the title for this item does not match the item.The lock I received is black not brass as pictured.I am happy with the black one rather than waiting a few days to get it replaced...its still a nice finish and quality so generally I'm happy, but obviously there is a mistake on the listing.

Easy to fit lock, great replacement for the old original rusty lock.
Used this to replace lock on a garage side door. Lock mechanism was easy to reverse.
