Q: What color are the running boards? In one picture they look gray

They aren't gray but they aren't Jet black either. I have them on a white wrangler and they match the black fenders and bumpers closely. They aren't an exact match in color but to the naked eye they look fine.

Q: do I have to take out the iron bar out of my 2021 Rubicon to set this side steps?

Mine is an 2018 Rubicon and I had to take off the very heavy rocker bars. I did sell them for $300 to someone on Jeep site who had the Sahara with the frame seam showing.
