Q: I've reading that you can't clean inside this fan. Is that true?

Very easy to clean. Once you (quickly) figure out the band/screw connector at the bottom of the blade unit & then the way the front grill clips on to the back grill, it's no problem. I've run the grill and band through the dishwasher numerous times. (FYI--smarter to hand wash and dry) I've had this fan since 2004, and at the time I paid close to $100 and it was a a bargain. I've owned over 12 years and it's been in windows and bathrooms and kitchens and bedrooms and living rooms, had a brief stint at my office, and it still looks and runs great. Screw at bottom of band and inside of band is getting some spots of rust---but that is totally down to extended use in a steamy bathroom and the whole dishwasher thing. Like I said, I've had this for 12 years and am only here to see if Hunter made a smaller version to replace, once again, the numerous desk fans I've run through in twelve years.

Q: How much is the tilt ?

It tilts forward and back about 20 degrees but is very flexible to adjust. This fan is incredibly quiet, easy to maintain but most importantly it is beautiful.

Q: Does this use AA batteries?

This plugs into an outlet. It is not battery operated.

Q: Does anyone have any suggestions on halting the rust on this fan? I've had it for almost two hears and the blades and cage are rusting. Thanks!
