Q: Do these have a spring loaded cap like the Tipton snap cap or is it just a solid dummy round ?

They are aluminum and have a rubber striking surface where the primer would be. These handle nicely, I like 'em much better than plastic & spring caps.

Q: How do you go about practicing with these snap caps? What do you aim at? I know they don't actually fire?

Snap caps are just to protect your gun when you want to "dry fire" it. Say to practice shooting stance, etc. I was told it was better than dry firing on empty cylinder.

Q: The product name says 38 special, but the picture looks like a 380. Can you please confirm that you received a 38 special for revolvers?

I did receive a 38 special not a 380. The pictures are not in proportion, and are shaped very similarly. I am satisfied with the product.
