Q: Is this router safe for mounting under a table? Will dust/chips fall into the motor assembly when it's operating upside down?

I have used this router mounted upside down in a router table many times without any problems. On my router table the opening in the table is only a little bit large than the router bit. There is dust and small chips that drops down some of which probably enters the router, but a periodic blast of air during routine maintenance has kept my router running smoothly.

Q: My husband wants a router he can attach upside down with a plate to his wooden workbench he built. Can this router do that? Do I need addl parts?

If he made his own router table, he won't need additional parts outside of a few screws. The fixed base will fasten directly to the underside of the table, so long as the gentleman has drilled matching holes centered around the hole the bit will sit through. Of course, he will need longer screws to reach through the thickness of the board, but we are talking pennies here.

faulty, dangerous, no help form buyer or back up from amazon AVOID THIS SELLER

This tool is useless, for a Dewalt tool it is faulty, dangerous.sparks and smoke come out the top, blows your fuse box.this has happened to other people too.the seller will not refund or replace and just keep sending the same reply email saying that it has gone past the 30 return date.Amazon will just keep telling you that they will refund you and don'tthe A-Z claim just keep rejecting the case.VERY LONG AND STRESSFUL PROCESS TAHT LEAVES YOU WITH A FAULTY, DANGEROUS TOOL AND OUT OF POCKET.
