No, they're not shiny, they are really good material though. Very stretchy but they hold you in really well. They look super small but they fit great, I think they're a fantastic buy.

What size would a 12/14 U.K. size be.

I ordered xxl and I am a size 20 . If that helps. They are very stretchy and so comfy.
