Q: Does this receiver support earc? that is audio like dolby truehd is sent from the tv to the receiver over hdmi arc and decoded to the speakers?

Q: The “4k upscale“ gives me a fuzzy picture on all sources, is there a known problem with upscale? (the default setting is on)

I'm using a 4K HDMI cable I don't have that problem at all picture looks great I run my cable box through it

Q: How would I hook up my equalizer to this unit?

You can’t. EQ’s require an amp that has a loop built into it. Most all in one receivers don’t have this feature.

Q: Can zone B control a second set of speakers and does their volume track with the main zone?

Yes they can. I have B wired into a speaker select switch and I can select between my outside speakers or my speakers in the kitchen.
