I trust the Canon brand
I spent a lot on this Canon printer, and years later it still runs like a champ. I could save money with an off-brand cartridge, but why risk it?

Does look better than cheaper toner, but you pay a price
Got tired of having to replace cheaper off-brand toner cartridges more frequently so went back to Canon. Quality of printing is marginally to noticeably better, overall it's still an expensive proposition but I'll be sticking with these.

Easy to load and use
This cartridge loaded easily into the printer and performed perfectly from the first printout. The instructions were clear -- but their primary value was to confirm that the loading process was indeed as simple as it appeared to be.
