Impressive, recommended
Just ordered my second. My original review is below. Only things to add after more than a year. Battery life is good. No idea about on some sort of long haul trucking, it puts itself to sleep and saves power if it's not moving. So sitting for hours at work, school, etc... doesn't use power. More than a year and the battery still only needs a charge about every month and a half. It's not a fast charger though, takes an overnight. Not small but still easy to be out of sight. My daughter knows it's in her car and where it is, but also knows it's for her safety and my peace of mind. It was stolen once. You can imagine the surprise when I came knocking (ultimately pounding because nobody would answer) on the door and told them not only did I know it was inside but I could tell them exactly where it was (no joke, 3 feet is pretty tight, while charging in my own house I not only can see what room it's in but where in that room. Or said differently, you can tell which parking slot a car is parked in, in a parking lot.) Since the last software update there is a little more wiggle room and the ap can think the device is "off the road" by a little. Closing the ap and reopening it will cause it to "recalculate" and follow the road exactly though. Originally I talked about how long the "trace" lasts of the travel rout. Since I've realized you have control of that. For most of the time I have used about 8 hours but recently I bumped it up to around 24 hours. Interestingly when you increase the amount of time to display, it knows all that unshowed data and will show you right now what happened in that time. Also interestingly enough you can change the start and stop time so if you want to see what happened from 6am to 10pm 3 days ago it will show you. It also shows any prolonged stops and will tell you what time they started and ended with elapsed time at the stop.--------------So I've only been using for three days. I read many amazon reviews as well as elsewhere. In a measure of good vs bad, the only bad is the devices size. And I chose it knowing it's pretty large compared to many others. My hope is that means it has more battery power. If it can go a month between charges I'll be happy. I'm placing it out of sight but I'm not actually trying to fight "bad behavior" so the fact that James Bond can't hide it in a watch doesn't bother me.The things I found good, some unexpected. Several people complained about lack of instructions. It has some brief instructions that get you started and not much more. But setup is kind of linier. Step 2 is really the only action that can follow step 1, step 3 is really the only thing that can follow step 2. Now they say and reviewers have said that if the device doesn't connect to the ap immediately you should walk around a little. This is BS. It takes more time for them to connect that "you think it should." I live in an area with no issue connecting to cellular. It didn't connect immediately. I got in the car and drove around. After about a half hour they connected. In retrospect, thinking it would connect immediately is a bit crazy. Now that my ap and the tracker know each other it connects immediately and in fact it's track even while I'm not looking and shows me the path the tracker took while I was not even logged in.It tracks to within about 3 feet but it seams to be about 20 to 40 seconds behind. I drove around with it tracking and the phone on my dash. It shows me about 1/2 a mile ago but does follow the correct path. Stop at a red light and it pretty much catches up while you wait for the light but of course shows you leaving it about a half minute after you actually did. I feel like it shows the path of travel for almost the whole day. I went to a location, stayed there for about an hour then went somewhere else before returning. The entire path was visible but next day was a clean slate. Some things I didn't expect, the ap connects to Google. So it can show you as best as google has photographed, a picture of where (house, neighborhood, parkinglot, what ever) the device is sitting. Because it is connected to google and assuming your phone knows where it is, it will give you turn by turn directions to get from where you are to where it is. Now not for monitoring but I have real life experience of getting a call "We don't know where we are but we are having some trouble. I think the town is called (and they gave me the wrong name...)" Armed with this device I could literally have tapped the screen and it would have given me specific directions and an estimate of how long it will take. For me, that is worth the price of admission. Maybe the rest do it too, I don't know. The removal detector is a light sensor in the middle of the magnet. If it gets pulled from what it's stuck to it's going to know it. If it's not stuck to something then maybe it'll go off "randomly." The fix is, stick it to something. I have it in a SUV and it is not horizontal, under the rear deck and is having no issue with signal and reception. Also you can pay your monthly (or whatever time period you select) through Amazon so if you are like me and not too sure about giving your CC number to yet another company it's an option. I thought I'd try it monthly before I commit and assuming the remainder of the month goes as well as the past few days I'll likely switch to yearly. This is not the cheapest device but I would say it was on the inexpensive end of the list and absolutely was the lowest monthly. Watch out for the no monthly fee devices, what they don't tell you is you will need to set up an account with your cellular carrier for anywhere from 20-40 bucks a month. The funny thing is being a German company when you login the map is centered on Germany and then quickly skips over to my neighborhood in the USA. I gave 5 stars for Support but never used support. IMO the best customer support is the one you don't need. Also 5 for batter life, we'll call that wishful thinking but I suspect it's got better life than some much smaller device.

Better than Expected!
I've used this for a couple of weeks now and it works well. Accuracy is pinpoint (being used in a major metro) and battery is exceptional (less than 10% drain a week so far), and that is through a hidden lockbox. So signal strength remained while being able to conceal. As other reviews mention, setting up the subscription payment via Amazon is also simple and a way to keep payment secure.Device itself has an extremely durable feel and the magnet attachment was useful. All in all, easily a 5/5 star and well worth the price.

UPDATE 12/11/23 - Totally regret buying these units! Worst Experience Ever!
Don't waste your time! I am 4 hours into the set-up and because this is a Dutch company, paying is a pain in the @%$@#¡!!! I am giving up and returning the product because it is impossible to pay for the subscription. Run the other way and use a different tracker!UPDATE!!! Things have gone from bad to worse! Since I have had this unit I have had almost 38 email exchanges with support and things would get a little better and then quickly go downhill! They were supposed to send me a new unit and never did, then just last night as I was working in the unit to get information off from the history for my milage for our employees, they shut my service off and locked me out of the unit because of issues they were having with payments going through Paypal!!!. How did I know this, my subscription on the other unit I bought got shut off 2 weeks ago and never turned back on! Oh and when I asked them about it, I got a lady from the netherlands responding in dutch, and then a lady responded 2 days later from the US asking me to try the payment again because they are having issues with their account on Paypal. I never got it to go through and they shut my units off and left me hanging out in the cold, So no I have two $40 paperweights and no way to pay for the service, instead of them giving me a month or two for free to keep my service on while they fix their payment issues, they shut the service off and are now ignoring my messages.DO NOT BUY THESE TRACKERS unless you like to be treated like crap and like wasting your time and money! Trust me you will totally regret it if you buy these units! From Setup to their Customer Service, it is by far the worst experience I have ever encountered with a company and that is saying a lot with the way customer service is these days in the companies we have available to us as consumers!

We made one adjustment. It's fixed!
Stop!I spoke too soon. They do have STATESIDE HELP. I was calling the wrong number.Problem solvedIt's my opinion this company does NOT have STATE SIDE SUPPORT. Amazon should have made that clear. I DON'T SPEAK German, wish I could. I need to cancel my GPS Subscription. I don't need this device. It's not what I hoped for.
