This ruler is working fine, stiff when projecting the ruler is fine. I'm finding the black background and white lettering a bit hard to quickly read, could be I just need a bit more practice as I'm used to the green. The outer cover being black was an immediate difficult to find on my work bench so I applied bright yellow paint to it and I'm set. I like the rulers action, but would choose a different color if given a choice. r

I build cabinets for a living so i need a sturdy, accurate and reliable tape measure. Everything worked great except it split in the middle within a month use. Bottom line, if u have a home workshop and need a good tape measure, this is it. If u need it for everyday use at work and such, you'll need something better.

I install office furniture and need to measure quite often. Sixteen feet is plenty for most jobs...not bulky to carry around. The lock feature is true to the claim.

There’s a lot of disparity in tape measure reviews. I think it depends on how rough and often your gonna need it. It’s mechanical, so all mechanical won’t last forever. For what I do, work indoors, clean environments. It’s perfect. Having both meters and feet are very important, no need to convert.It’s compact, looks and feels great, got good weight to it. And I like the lanyard. Tiny belt clip tho, so get a belt adapter for easy on and off, or wear it on a belt loop. Other than I that, so far I really like it. And I did my research

I love the high level of contrast between the numerals and the black background. Really wanted one with a magnetic tip as well, but the auto lock feature more than makes up for a magnetic tip model that just doesn't seem to build yourselves

I was working on a new project that would use a lot of precise measures. I decided I was tired of trying to do mental acrobatics with imperial fractions. Bought this and built my project in metric. Loved it. So much easier in decimals. This measurer was great. Easy to read. I liked that it had measurements on both sides. I do wish it wasn't automatically locking, but it does what it says it will do. If you want to have a good, readable tape measurer in both imperial and metric then this is it!

Very easy to read and nice since fir everyday use

Good and sturdy and I was very happy with it for the first weeks. Then, the plastic face started to peel off which makes reading the distances a bit difficult to say the least. Still usable but won't be for long. Disappointing since I am an amateur and not a heavy user of the tape measure so it should have lasted a lot longer than this! Unfortunately just outside the 3 month period so I can't return.

The black with white measurement markings works really well. Never seen it before. Left my last tape in B&Q which prompted me to get this. Although £13.99 out of pocket I’m rather pleased. Yes good tape easy to read sturdy enough and feels good. That may seem a silly last statement but as a mechanic the fact of tools feeling right is to me very important.

I thought I would try this option as opposed to the conventional yellow. I find the marking stand out a little better in this colour option especially on the Imperial scale . I often switch between Imperial and metric so like the two scales on one blade . The self lock function is nice to use ,also a improvement over slide lock action In my opinion . Pleased with design . The fisco detatachable style belt clip arangement is the only thing I miss.

The recoil is so hard it caught my finger on several occasions, but after a few months use (I am not a builder, just DIY) it snapped the rivets off the end clip. Amazon no help on matter.

I didn't realise I could get so enamoured of a tape measure. It is by some distance better than any of the tape measures I have used previously. I have been going round the house looking for things to measure. Even the sounds it makes are epic. You will not regret this purchase.
