This can be adjusted to different sizes. From one and a half inch to 2 inch plus. It's a solid but pliable rubber. Very well constructed. Save me about $260 on a floor scrubber plug that was literally the same thing. Works like a charm.

We bought this as a stopper for a 1939 fish pond we restored. Although the drain measured at 1.5 inches, it needed about a 1.75 " stopper . Plus, it was not perfectly round, so any solid plastic solution left a void on the not-round side. After trying a couple other similar, but rigid expansion plugs, we tried this and it worked perfectly. It was small enough to fit into the hole, but it also expanded enough to make watertight contact with the wonky sides. So, not quite the purpose this was designed for, but it absolutely worked.I had the same issue as others with that center screw spinning around, but after a certain point I just cranked it down as much as possible then banged it on in with a rubber mallet. It hasn't leaked yet!

Product seems to be of good quality however I had a 1.5” hole needing to be plugged and the product says fits 1.5-2” hole. I could not get it to fit it was just barely too big so if you have a 1.5” hole consider next size down

I bought these to use on the five gallon water jugs. I bought other caps earlier for the jugs, they were absolutely useless. Sitting upright in the vehicle they would just pop off while traveling. These won't do that. Just push them down far enough & tighten the wingnut tight, you're good to go!

The Amazon webpage for this plug shows the large end to be 2 inches OD which it is. However, the small end is 1.69 inches OD not 1.5 inches as shown. This plug does not fit either 1 1/2 or 2 inch Sch 40 PVC and it does not fit the 200 psi grade of PVC pipe either.

This worked perfectly for my use. I have old cast-iron plumbing with overflow floor drains under a washing machine and water heater. The lines were backing up when the washing machine would pump faster than the line could drain. I tried 1.5" mechanical plugs but they weren't quite large enough to plug the pipe, but 2" were all too big. This allowed us to get those resolved and not have flooding in our house. Hoping they last a long time.

I gave it 3 stars because it did indeed seal the pipe it was supposed to. However, there are a few improvements that should be incorporated. #1- the rubber should be more flexible in order to hold a more solid seal. Mine was too stiff and required a sufficient amount of tightening. #2- The wing nut stripped it's threads when tightened. Probably due to the rigid properties of the rubber seal when trying to compress it. A stainless steel wingnut would be more appropriate since the bolt is already stainless. The nylon wingnut this device comes with didn't last long. This is the weak part of the plug.
