V-Cube 4 Cube Pillowed Cube Toy, White/Multicolor

I lost some pieces to my previous 4x4 speed cube, so I was looking for a replacement. When I noticed V-cube had released their 4x4, I was excited to try the new design. I am happy to report that it exceeds my expectations. As anyone who owns even-numbered cubes can attest, the internals are awkward. This design seems to address those issues very well. Gone is the eight-position ratcheting of the center axis that my previous cube had. Obviously, the middle axis is not as smooth as the outer slices on the V-cube 4b, but it is leaps and bounds ahead of other designs and eliminates that feeling that you're holding the cube together just to play with it. The corners are much more stable than I had anticipated as well, which seems to be due to more than just the pillowed design. My cube has loosened up quite a bit in the few days that I've had it. I can corner-cut slightly, but I still don't feel like the cube is going to come apart (relative to other options on the market).

This cube turns very well in all layers, and is a great cube to have in any collection. I would recommend it to the avid cuber who insists on having the cool/new cubes on the market. I wouldn't, however, recommend this cube over the standard Cubic version (non-rounded edges) of this cube. The cubic ones are a little lighter and simply turn better than the pillowed versions. I have the V-Cube 2x2, 3x3, and 4x4 Cubic and Pillowed cubes. I'd recommend the cubic version in all instances. The bonus to this cube is it gets peoples attention a little more, and I've even gotten unlikely candidates to start cubing who have purchase Pillowed versions, so I guess it's really a matter of personal preferences. I prefer the Cubic version because they're more lightweight, and turn better.

Very smooth turning, its almost weird to get used to after using other 4x4's. I originally had an eastsheen that i grew unhappy with, it wouldnt stay tight, would lock up often and the center corners would pop off alot. The mechanics of the v-cube 4x4 are superior by far. Stickers look great, only thing i could complain about is the little plastic burrs left over from the molding process but in about a half hour i was able to cut off any undesired pieces with a razor blade, and not that any of it was difficult to do. If you are looking for a new 4x4 or even your very first i couldnt recommend another brand more. I have yet to have any lock ups or piece pops, very nice.

I bought this puzzle a few months ago as my first pillowed cube. When I got it out of the box it turned really well and I enjoyed it a lot. Bought this for my 10 yr old son, who can easily solve the 3x3 cube and thought this would provide a little more challenge. Well, it did. It's so difficult that it's frustrating.

This cube is very smooth! The only problem I've had so far has been how loose the pieces mesh. I have had numerous pieces pop out while playing. Not that hard to fix, just aggravating!

I have played with some 4x4's in the past and I must say this is the best. It comes lubricated inside and the price of $25 makes it a must buy. The only bad part is the the pieces sometimes interfere with each other causing some pretty loud clicking sounds. Other than that, it's really smooth at turning and is very fun.

If you can solve a 3x3x3, then the 4x4x4 is the logical extension and offers new challenges. The V-cube worked well with no problems. However, I think I prefer the normal flat sides rather than the pillow sides; easier to use. I have subsequently completed 5x5x5 and 7x7x7 flat side cubes.

Excellent Cube out of the box. This is my fourth V-Cube. Love them al.
