Does it meet British safety standards?

No idea,but i don't think it would affect any safety aspect of your carseat. its just a cover to stop your child opening the buckles. so id say that's much safer. It really works, its stopped our 2year old popping open the buckles & climbing out while the cars moving. Which was very scary,dangerous & stressfull. Well worth getting for peace of mind.

How stiff is the material? It looks as though a child could just press the button through the materia..

My son just pulled it off it’s Velcro fastening. It covers the button very well, my son is autistic and likes escaping 😱

How do you install it?

With Velcro around the buckle then fasten the belt into the buckle Then Velcro over the done up clips/buckle to the back of the buckle Had for a couple of years for my 3.5 year old and it’s great Did have to replace once cause it fell out of the car 🤦🏼♀️

Can you use it on a pushchair ?

I don't see why not if it's a 5 point system it should work exactly the same!
