Can this fit on to a table not as wide as a table tennis table? Does it fit onto a thinner table?

I was originally put off buying this catch net, because a review said it is better suited for a full size 9x5 foot table, however, my table is 7x4 foot, about 18mm thick (as it is a TT table top). I have managed to adapt the catch net to suit my needs by removing one of the rods from the top of the net and I scrunched up the lower material, using a bandy clamp. It works well and does what it was designed to do. With the sides - I extended it about an inch beyond the net, this seems to work well too. Very happy with the purchase, great value too.
