My girls are just starting to lay but not all of them have begun yet. I ordered the Little Farmer Oyster shell so that I can transition their feed from grower/finisher to layer feed. This was the perfect solution for me so that the ones who need the extra calcium will get it with at will feeding of the oyster shell while waiting for the younger ones to begin laying and switching them all to layer feed. The girls love the texture of the shells! They are nice and thin and not too large. They eat what they need and have nice thick eggshells. Good product!

Love this product. The texture of the oyster shell is perfect. It smells like it’s chock full of calcium. My chickens love it and their eggs are good and hard.

Well the shells look great. However there is a strong fish smell. I used to buy oyster shells from the local feed farm store. But decided to buy online this type. The product from the feed farm stores never had a smell. But this one from Amazon stinks! However if the hens eat it and it provides the calcium they need then I"ll buy this product again. But I have to wait and see. It's only been a couple days and so far I haven't seen them eating it.UPDATE 7-24-20The hens are definitely eating the oyster shells and the eggs they lay are very hard outer shell. I have to hit them twice on the frying pan to crack them open. Very strong shells. Actually I may have to take the oyster shells out of their pen since they are getting a lot of calcium; maybe too much. Anyways these work great after observing for a few weeks.

I supplement grower feed with these oyster shells in a seperate container. My laying hens don't hesitate to eat this if they need it. They've never layed eggs with weak shells, they are actually hard to crack!

Holy crap! The hens love this stuff. Prefer it to their feed and cracked corn. Throw some on the ground and they go crazy! Eggs look great too. Would definitely buy again.

Bummer, not as described. These are rocks of calcium not crushed shells as I had hopped. My hens will not eat these. These companies need to do better when they are listing these items and not lie to sell. What a waste of money.

This is my eighth time reordering the same product. (Just click reorder .. so simple) Only this time I received crumbles instead of flaked oyster shells. Because I didn’t pay attention and ripped the bag open, I can’t request a refund or return the item. My girls don’t like the crumbles. 😕
