The Book of Fire: The Life-Givers (The Elements Series)

Masterfully (and playfully) written. A fantastic deep dive into the fire element from a wonderful storyteller, teacher, and (evolutionary) astrologer. Just invest in all four books in this series - you won’t regret it!

The book is well written, but the author uses metaphors and similes to paint the picture. It’s great, but a little redundant. Also, I’m the type that likes it all at once. He slowly takes you through the process, but found myself wandering out due to the content that continues to go around and around, never giving a direct answer. Since it’s a series of personal essays, I understand, but I rather do text book style. Currently reading Earth and it’s the same thing. I like astrology, I like this author, just that the voice isn’t my taste. Witty and hilarious at times, it’s as if you’re in a seminar with him. I learned a great deal, but he’s been on the edge of making me go to sleep. I read a lot, so this read is definitely for you if you’re starting your self enlightenment astrological journey.

I loved all the detail in this book and the way it takes you deep into the archetypes of the elements. I finished with a whole new understanding of the fire signs and how they show up in my own natal chart.

I have been reading Steven Forrest’s work since the 80s. I have all of this set: Fire, Earth, Air and Water.These are very good tools for the study of astrology.

Steven Forrest is by far the best writer in the astrological community, and he doesn't disappoint in amazing book. I am not yet done with the book, but every word has been a real treat thus far. You don't really need previous astrological knowledge [although I highly recommend checking out his original trilogy of "the inner sky" (great intro to astrology); "the changing sky" (excellent book for transits); and yesterday's sky (best book for evolutionary astrology)], as he dives right into the cardinal, FIRE explosion that we all associate with the spring equinox aka ARIES. In this book, he explores the 3 Fire signs in a manner that is unparalleled in any other text, including traditional ones. He also goes deeply into the houses associated with those signs (1st, 5th, 9th) and the planets associated with them (Mars, Sun, Jupiter). I've been studying astrology for many years now, yet this book still provided me deep insight into my character and the purpose of the placements in my natal chart. I promise you that you will not be disappointed with this book, and i'm going to cut this review short as I hit the shower and look forward to reading the rest of the book. Also, can't wait till the rest of this series. Forrest is the best!

I've always liked Steven J. Forrest as an astrologer, but with this book and his Book of Earth I am convinced he is a straight-up genius. This book is AMAZING. Incredibly insightful and inspiring. Highly recommend!

Of special note in this book are beautifully written “affirmations” of the deepest intentions of each Sun sign. I’ve been reading Steven for years, but have never been so deeply moved by reading his page and a half on my Sun in Scorpio. I’ve printed it out just to use as an affirmation when I need to be reminded of the truer purpose of my time here. The other eleven are just as good!

Great book for those seeking personal astrological learning or professional development. I’m looking forward to the final two books on air and water—I can’t wait! I’ve already read The Book of Earth.

I find so insightful every learning tool by Steven Forrest! In any case, with the book of Fire and the Book of Earth Steven has really outdone himself! The book is not only useful to learn "Fire" matter, but it gives proper hints to go into evolutionary astrology and understand, on a general basis, how planets, signs and houses work.If you study astrology DON'T MISS IT!

The book is extremely insightful and Steven Forrest has a personal style of telling a story that makes it easy to understand even difficult concepts. Best book on astrology I have ever read I hope he writes more ... about synastry about all combinations.I suggest this book to anyone passionate about astrology and wanting to get a good understanding of it.
